December 3 Luke 3

Repentance is not just feeling sorry in your heart it is a change in direction. True repentance will produce love in a Christian life. Your love of God shows in how you love other people. In the lineage of Jesus we see all the people God restored and used, imperfect people to create the perfect plan. David, Boaz, Judah, Noah, Adam! The best way I can teach my children God's love is by showing them people/behaviors can change and from that change good can come. They need to see my love for others and my repentance for my sins. #seekhim✝️ #childoftheking🙌🏻✨✝️ #remembergodlovesyou

... Read moreThe reflection in Luke 3 reminds us that repentance goes beyond feeling sorry; it is about a real change in direction that impacts our actions and relationships. This transformation is essential for Christians because it produces genuine love—not just a feeling but demonstrable through how we treat others. The lineage of Jesus, mentioned in Luke 3, is a profound example of God's restorative power. Despite the imperfections of figures like David, Boaz, Judah, Noah, and Adam, God used them to fulfill His perfect plan. This shows us that no matter our past mistakes, change and restoration are possible. This message is especially valuable when teaching children about God's love. Demonstrating how behaviors and people can change gives children a tangible understanding of repentance and love. When children see love in action—through both love for others and repentance for wrongdoing—they grasp the depth of God’s grace more fully. The OCR text from the image also resonates with this idea, emphasizing preparation, reflection, and how life can be better when we turn toward goodness. The theme "Prepare the way" encourages believers to reflect on what changes they need in their lives. It’s about preparing our hearts to live according to God’s goodness and letting that goodness reflect in our daily actions. Ultimately, true repentance is not about perfection but about a sincere turning away from sin and a heartfelt movement toward love and grace. By embracing this, anyone can experience a renewed life and participate in God’s ongoing work through imperfect people.
