... Read moreHey everyone! Following up on my last post about those lucky killer stuns, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into how you can consistently pull them off, especially if you're new to Dead by Daylight. That feeling of stunning a relentless killer and escaping? Pure gold! It truly turns a terrifying chase into a moment of triumph. When I talk about 'obstacles,' I'm thinking beyond just pallets. While they're your primary stun tool, I've found success using corners, narrow doorways, and even quick vaults through windows. The key is to break the killer's line of sight just as they're about to swing. Forcing them to guess your movement or commit to an animation buys you precious seconds. For example, cutting a sharp corner can often make them swing and miss, giving you a crucial lead. Pallet stuns are the most satisfying! Timing is critical. Dropping a pallet too early wastes a valuable resource and might not even connect. My personal rule of thumb is to wait until the killer is just about to enter the pallet's hitbox. It's a fine balance, and practice truly makes perfect. The more you play, the better you'll get at anticipating a killer's movement. Don't be afraid to try to 'bait' a stun – sometimes faking a pallet drop can make a killer hesitate, allowing you to run to a stronger loop. Beyond stuns, mastering 'looping' is crucial for extending chases and buying your team time. Utilize every structure on the map. Learn the layout of different tiles to effectively chain together windows, pallets, and walls. Breaking line of sight by running around tall structures can confuse killers. Pay attention to 'safe' versus 'unsafe' pallets; a safe pallet lets you get distance, while an unsafe one might still get you hit. Knowing map tiles and where resources are is a huge advantage. It's also important to adapt your chase strategy to the killer you're facing. A Spirit or Nurse requires different juking techniques than a Trapper or Wraith. Understanding their abilities helps you predict their next move. For instance, against a Blight, avoid open areas where he can quickly zoom. Finally, some perks can truly turn the tide. 'Lithe' gives a burst of speed after a fast vault, perfect for escaping. 'Windows of Opportunity' highlights nearby pallets and vaults, so you always know your options. 'Dead Hard' (if timed well) can give you an extra dash to dodge a hit, while 'Sprint Burst' offers an initial speed boost. 'Resilience' can also increase vault and pallet drop speed when injured. Remember, every game is a learning experience. You'll have incredible escapes and frustrating downs, but that's part of the journey. Don't get discouraged! Keep practicing those stuns, learn the maps, understand killer powers, and most importantly, have fun surviving in the Fog!
