Forest Hills, Queens, truly exceeded my expectations on my recent visit! I was immediately captivated by the classic New York street scenes, with their distinctive brick apartment buildings and the welcoming canopy of lush green trees. It felt like stepping into a peaceful oasis, a refreshing contrast to the usual city hustle. If you're asking yourself, 'What to do in Forest Hills?' or 'What are the best things to do in Forest Hills, Queens?' I've got some personal tips for you. My day started with a leisurely stroll through the residential areas, taking in the unique pre-war architecture. The quality of the brickwork on these buildings is just incredible, giving the neighborhood a timeless, elegant feel. I even passed a prominent street sign for "72 Dr ONE WAY STOP," which gave me a sense of the well-organized, friendly community. It's the perfect place for a quiet morning walk, letting you soak in the local atmosphere and admire the beautiful gardens. It’s definitely one of the top things to do in Forest Hills if you enjoy a lively urban environment with a neighborhood feel. Later in the afternoon, I ventured towards Forest Park. This expansive park is a true jewel, offering a welcome escape into nature. I spent a good hour just walking the trails, enjoying the fresh air, and appreciating the diverse plant life. It’s perfect for a jog, a picnic, or simply finding a quiet bench to read a book. The sheer size of the park means there’s always a new path to discover, and the panoramic views from certain points are stunning. If you're looking for outdoor activities or just a peaceful retreat, Forest Park is an absolute must-visit. Before heading home, I treated myself to dinner at one of the many superb restaurants on Metropolitan Avenue. The culinary scene here is surprisingly diverse, offering everything from classic American fare to international cuisine. Forest Hills offers a wonderful blend of historic charm, modern amenities, and natural beauty. It's a fantastic destination for a day trip or even a longer stay, with plenty of things to do and see that truly make it stand out in Queens.
