Starting with AutoCAD and SketchUp for interior design can feel overwhelming at first, but my experience taught me that perseverance is key. When I embarked on my first project, I focused on incorporating Industrial Loft style combined with Modern Living features and Biophilic Design principles. These styles allowed me to create a space that is both functional and connected to nature, which enhances well-being. One of the most valuable lessons was transforming frustrations into learning opportunities. I encountered software tool limitations and struggled with translating my ideas into digital drawings, but each challenge pushed me to explore tutorials, forums, and ASID resources. Engaging with the design community helped me understand how to balance aesthetics with practicality. Biophilic Design especially intrigued me—it integrates natural elements like plants, daylight, and natural materials to make interiors feel fresh and vibrant. Bringing that into an Industrial Loft added warmth and personality to an otherwise minimalist and raw space. For anyone starting out, I recommend embracing patience as you develop skills with design software. Experiment with mixing styles such as Industrial and Modern to find your unique voice.
