Welcome home Marshmallow my Emo Girl🖤

I drove 6 hours to rescue/adopt Marshmallow Moon Pie.

She was dumped in a box with some kittens in very bad condition. She is a 5 month old Anatolian Shepherd puppy. This is her first ride home & she’s a gorgeous dog.

I believe she was dumped so I can be her home… that’s how I like to perceive life. She went from being abandoned to being spoiled with love. I wish one day to have a rescue like the one who saved her… it’s always been my dream! But for now I’ll be saving them one dog at a time.🐾

She is my emo girl, Welcome home Marshmallow.💜

If you're pondering adding a furry friend to your family, especially a rescue, I wholeheartedly recommend it. It's truly a life-changing experience, not just for them, but for you too. Seeing Marshmallow transform from an abandoned puppy to my spoiled 'emo girl' has been incredibly rewarding. Many people wonder about the dog adoption process, and while it varies from shelter to shelter, there are common threads. Typically, you start by filling out an application. They want to understand your living situation, your experience with dogs, and how much time and resources you can dedicate. Following this, there might be an interview, and sometimes even a home visit to ensure your home environment is suitable for a new pet. Don't let these steps deter you; they're simply ensuring each dog finds the best possible forever home. After approval, you get the exciting opportunity to meet potential matches! It truly feels like dating, but for a furry soulmate. Once you've found *the one*, there's usually an adoption fee, which is crucial as it helps cover essential costs like vaccinations, spaying/neutering, microchipping, and other vital care the shelter provided before adoption. Settling in a rescue puppy like Marshmallow, especially one found in such a vulnerable state, requires an abundance of patience, understanding, and love. During her first few days, I made sure she had a quiet, safe space – her own cozy bed with a soft blanket – where she could retreat and feel secure. Establishing a consistent routine for feeding, potty breaks, and playtime was key to building trust and helping her feel settled. A prompt vet visit is always a top priority to ensure their health and to get them acquainted with their new veterinarian. Marshmallow was a bit shy initially, but with gentle encouragement, positive reinforcement, and plenty of delicious treats, her sweet and quirky personality started to blossom. Marshmallow is a beautiful Anatolian Shepherd, a breed known for being protective, intelligent, and somewhat independent. At just 5 months old, we have a wonderful journey of training, socialization, and bonding ahead of us. Even though she's growing into a large and majestic dog, she's still very much my little 'emo girl' – a nickname that just stuck because of her incredibly expressive eyes and those endearing, slightly dramatic puppy expressions! Giving our pets unique nicknames and seeing their personalities emerge is such a joyful part of building that special bond, isn't it? It’s not just about the act of rescuing a dog; it's about welcoming a new family member into your life and watching them thrive. Every happy tail wag and every loving glance from Marshmallow reminds me exactly why I embarked on that long drive and why I'll continue to advocate passionately for rescue animals. They truly bring an immeasurable amount of joy, companionship, and unconditional love into our lives.
