Lore Olympus Persephone

Hey fellow cosplayers! After diving into my very first Persephone costest from Lore Olympus, I wanted to share some thoughts and tips for anyone else looking to embody the Goddess of Spring. It was such a fun experience, and I definitely learned a few things along the way that I hope can help you with your own take on Kore! Getting the Skin Tone Right (The Pink Challenge) One of the most iconic and essential parts of Persephone’s look is her unique pink or lavender skin tone. For my test run, I experimented with a few different body paints. What I found worked best was a water-activated body paint in a soft rose or light lavender shade, applied with a damp makeup sponge. Layering is absolutely key! I noticed that applying a thin, even layer, letting it dry completely, and then adding another really helped achieve a vibrant, streak-free color that didn't crack easily. A pro tip I picked up: don't forget to set it with a translucent powder to prevent smudging, especially if you're going to be posing for photos or moving around a lot! Wig Wisdom for Kore's Hair Persephone's hair often features soft curls or gentle waves, typically in a lovely pastel pink hue. For my costest, I opted for a softer, slightly wavy wig in a dusty rose tone. When picking out your wig, consider both the length and volume you're aiming for. I found that a wig with some natural volume already built in made styling much easier and more forgiving. If you're planning a more intricate style, like an updo or specific braids, make sure to get a wig that can handle heat styling (if necessary) and has enough fiber to hold its shape. Trimming and styling the bangs to gracefully frame your face, much like hers, is a small detail that can make a huge difference in capturing her essence! Makeup Magic (Eyes & Floral Touches) Beyond the skin, Persephone's makeup is often subtle but incredibly enchanting. I focused on creating soft, dewy eyes with just a touch of shimmer, paired with a natural, rosy lip color to complement the pink skin. But for me, the real magic often comes from her signature floral accents! I tried a few different ways to incorporate flowers into my look. For a costest or a casual shoot, simple artificial flowers glued to hair clips or a headband work wonderfully. If you're feeling a bit more adventurous, small floral temporary tattoos around the temples, collarbone, or even adorning her iconic floral crown can add a beautiful, delicate touch. Remember to keep the overall makeup look cohesive with her gentle, yet powerful, nature. Bringing it Together (Costume & Vibe) While my initial costest was more focused on perfecting the makeup and hair, it’s essential to think about the full costume. Persephone’s outfits in Lore Olympus range from simple, flowing tunics to more elaborate, elegant gowns. For a beginner-friendly approach, a flowing white or pastel-colored dress can be a fantastic base. You can then accessorize with gold jewelry, a DIY floral crown, or even a prop like a pomegranate. The most important thing is to truly capture her essence – that unique blend of innocence, strength, and her deep connection to nature. Practice some of her characteristic poses and expressions; it really helps to bring the character to life!
