Life is wild
My birthday was yesterday. It's strange and incredible thinking of how much time has passed.
How I never thought I'd live to see my 30's.
Never expected to be so happily married.
Never thought I'd have 4 kids.
Never thought I'd love motherhood so much.
That I'd have so many beautiful friends around me.
That I'd have such a warm, beautiful home filled with the greatest people I've ever known.
That I'd have such stunning and talented children.
That I'd marry my first kiss.
I have a life I never thought possible. And it just gets better everyday.
Here's to 33 (and every year of my life) being better than the last, in ways I could never have imagined 🥂
As I reflect on turning 33, and how much my life has blossomed in ways I never imagined, it also makes me think about the people who’ve been part of my journey. Sometimes, as we grow, friendships naturally ebb and flow. Life gets busy with marriage, kids, and building a home – things I honestly never thought I'd make it to, let alone love so much! It’s easy to lose touch with old friends from our school days or early 20s. But lately, I’ve found such unexpected joy in reconnecting. Just recently, I reached out to a friend I hadn't properly spoken to since high school, and it was like no time had passed. We shared stories of our paths, laughed about our '17-year-old selves' who thought they knew everything, and realized how much we've both grown. There’s something incredibly grounding about revisiting those old connections. It reminds you of where you came from and highlights how far you've come. It’s not about dwelling on the past, but cherishing the shared history and seeing how those early influences shaped the person you are today. If you've been thinking about an old friend, I truly encourage you to send that message. You might just find a beautiful, renewed connection that adds another layer of happiness to your already rich life. Speaking of a life that just gets better every day, I’ve been thinking a lot about what it truly means to live ‘sustainably’ – not just for the planet, but for our personal well-being and happiness. For me, at 33, it’s about creating a life rhythm that nourishes my soul and supports my family. It's about finding ways to sustain the joy and gratitude I feel for this life I honestly never thought possible. This means consciously prioritizing what truly matters: quality time with my amazing kids and husband, nurturing those beautiful friendships, and even carving out small moments for myself. For example, I try to 'sustain' my peace by having a quiet coffee before the kids wake up, or ensuring we have a family dinner where we truly connect, without distractions. It’s about building routines and making choices that allow this happiness to be long-lasting, not just fleeting. It's also about learning to adapt and grow, knowing that life will always throw curveballs. But by creating a 'sustainable' foundation of love, connection, and self-care, we can navigate those challenges and continue to feel 'happier than we could have ever imagined,' ensuring our lives continue to flourish, year after year.
