จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัว การเดินตามทางของพระพุทธเจ้าเป็นเส้นทางที่นำไปสู่ความสงบและความสุขใจที่ลึกซึ้ง แม้ในยุคปัจจุบันที่เต็มไปด้วยความวุ่นวายและสิ่งล่อใจมากมายของโลกีย์กาม แม้จะมีเงินทองหรือทรัพย์สินไหลเข้ามามากมายก็ไม่สามารถเติมเต็มความอยากในใจได้จริง ๆ คำสอนที่ว่า "ไม่ทำความชั่วทุกชนิด ทำแต่ความดี ทำใจให้ผ่องใส" มีความหมายลึกซึ้ง เพราะการทำความดีไม่ได้จำกัดแค่การกระทำทางกาย แต่คือการทำจิตใจให้บริสุทธิ์ ปราศจากความโลภ โกรธ หลง ซึ่งเป็นกิเลสที่ก่อให้เกิดทุกข์ใจ เมื่อเราสามารถฝึกตนเองด้วยความขยัน ความไม่ประมาท สำรวมระวัง และข่มใจได้เหมือน "สร้างเกาะบนห้วงน้ำกิเลสที่ไม่อาจท่วมได้" เราก็จะเป็นผู้มีปัญญาที่ไม่หวั่นไหวกับลมพายุของกิเลสในชีวิตประจำวัน ช่วยให้วิถีชีวิตของเราง่ายขึ้น และลดความสับสนวุ่นวายภายในใจ นอกจากนี้ การเข้าใจและยอมรับว่าการเกิดเป็นมนุษย์และการได้ฟังธรรมถือเป็นโอกาสที่หายาก จะช่วยเพิ่มความตั้งใจและความมุ่งมั่นในการปฏิบัติธรรมให้มากยิ่งขึ้น เพราะนี่คือโอกาสที่พระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้าทรงประทานมาเพื่อหนทางสู่ความหลุดพ้น การฝึกใจให้พ้นจากตัณหาและความยึดมั่นในกามสุข เป็นการเตรียมจิตใจให้พร้อมรับกับความจริงของชีวิต ซึ่งแม้จะมีความสุขเล็กน้อยจากสิ่งต่าง ๆ แต่สิ่งเหล่านั้นก็ไม่ยั่งยืน และก่อให้เกิดความทุกข์ตามมาเสมอ สุดท้ายนี้ ขอแนะนำให้ผู้สนใจศึกษาธรรมเนียมตามแนวทางพระพุทธเจ้า ทดลองปฏิบัติด้วยตนเองในชีวิตประจำวันเริ่มจากสิ่งง่าย ๆ อย่างการทำความดีเล็ก ๆ การสังเกตความคิด และฝึกวางใจเมื่อต้องเผชิญกับสิ่งยั่วยุใจ การทำเช่นนี้จะค่อย ๆ ช่วยสร้างความสุขสงบและความเย็นใจที่แท้จริงในชีวิตได้อย่างยั่งยืน พึงระลึกเสมอว่า เส้นทางตามรอยพระพุทธเจ้าไม่ได้หมายถึงการละโลกเพียงอย่างเดียวแต่เป็นการอยู่อย่างมีปัญญาในโลกนี้อย่างสงบและผาสุก
