Posting on YouTube is so fun and having video diaries to look back at is why I started. I know it can look a bit intimidating at first but as you get started you feel more comfortable.

Filming 📷

- USE YOUR PHONE (you really don’t need any fancy equipment)

- save footage on a google drive or iCloud

- make sure to buy extra storage as needed

Editing 👩🏾‍💻

- start off with FREE software to build editing skills

- add in cute sounds and music that matches your vibe

- apps like CapCut and iMovie and canva are good ones

- I get my music from SoundCloud and YouTube library

I use mostly canva or zeen for my video thumbnails

Let me know if you have questions or want me to do a more detailed tutorial 💕

... Read moreHey fellow aspiring vloggers! Building on what I shared earlier about getting started with YouTube, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into making your vlogs truly shine and feel authentic, even if you’re just starting out. It's totally doable, and these extra tips come straight from my own trial-and-error journey! Crafting Your Story & Planning: Before you hit record, take a moment to think about the story you want to tell. Your vlog doesn't need a grand narrative; sometimes, the most engaging content comes from documenting your daily life. For instance, I love sharing snippets like my morning routine, maybe even how I runs matcha for the first few days of a new habit. Keeping a simple journal, like a LEUCHTTURM1917 notebook, helps me jot down ideas, memorable moments, or even just a list of things I want to share that day. It keeps my content fresh and organized without feeling overly scripted – remember, authenticity is key to a great vlog! Elevating Your Filming Game (Still on Your Phone!): While your phone is absolutely perfect for starting, a few simple tweaks can make a huge difference in video quality. Think about lighting! Natural light by a window is your absolute best friend. If you're indoors, try to face a light source rather than having it behind you, which can create shadows. For audio, your phone's built-in mic is surprisingly good, but try to film in quiet environments. If you’re talking directly to the camera, holding your phone a bit closer can significantly improve sound quality. Also, experiment with different camera angles – not everything needs to be a straight-on selfie shot! Capture B-roll (secondary footage) of your surroundings or the activities you're doing to make the video more dynamic and visually interesting. Diving Deeper into YouTube Editing Tips: You already know free apps like CapCut and iMovie are absolute game-changers for beginners. To really level up your *youtube editing tips*, explore their hidden gems! Learn about keyframe animations for text overlays to make them pop, experiment with different transition styles (but don't overuse them!), and try using speed ramps to add drama or quicken mundane moments. Pacing is crucial – keep your energy up by cutting out dead air or slow moments. And about music: while SoundCloud and YouTube Library are great resources, always double-check copyright. Free creative commons music archives are fantastic for ensuring your videos don't get flagged. Layering subtle sound effects can also add so much personality and bring your scenes to life! Consistency & Finding Your Voice: One of the biggest lessons I learned on my vlogging journey is the importance of consistency. It doesn't necessarily mean daily uploads, but finding a schedule that works for you and sticking to it helps build an audience who knows when to expect your content. And most importantly, don't be afraid to let your unique personality shine through! What makes your vlog truly special is *you*. Embrace the imperfections, share what genuinely interests you, and remember that every video is a learning experience. It's truly rewarding to have these video diaries to look back on and see your growth. So go ahead, press record! The best way to learn is by doing, and I can't wait to see what amazing content you create!
