Thoughts on 2025
✝️ God
1. Even on my worst days, God is still good.
2. I haven’t been praying enough and I want to pray more.
3. Spent so much time traveling but not enough time with God. Read so many due diligence reports yet not much of the Bible.
4. If I don’t read His word, there’s no way I’m hearing him right.
5. He knows that I’ll run to Him when I’m suffering. How I wish that I run to Him everyday.
6. Few things have moved me but His love has.
🏚️ Family
I typed a lot but deleted realising I have nothing good to say about my family at this point. It’s really suffering having no one at all.
👥 Friends
1. People who love God make me want to love God more.
2. Sincerity or the lack thereof can be felt.
3. I kinda want to let go of “bad” friendships to pour more into the good ones.
5. Some friends I see only once in a blue moon but I actually cherish them a lottttt.
👩💻Work
1. Work is just work but I lose sleep and skip lunch just to get it done.
2. I’m starting to get used to my incompetence.
3. Sometimes it’s a little awkward when meetings are male dominated.
4. The job is 75% how to deal with people. 40% technical knowledge. Totalling 115% because that’s what it takes of me. 100% is not even enough.
5. Multitasking is the bare minimum.
6. Work has actually been my escape from all things difficult in life.
7. Working across time zones sucks sometimes.
⛪️ Church
1. Don’t know what to feel about having a new growth group in 2026. I’ll miss my leaders and others from my current group.
2. Hopefully I can start serving.
3. Still haven’t found a group I can do life with but maybe that’s not the point.
💔 Singleness / not dating
1. I hate being single some days but I’m asking God to show me His perspective.
2. When friends suddenly get into relationships, it reminds me that God is able! At the same time, I mentally prepare myself to be abandoned.
3. God is intentionally keeping me single for a reason but I still don’t know why.
4. I kinda enjoy the freedom yet feel so intensely alone on many occassions.
Honestly still many unprocessed thoughts…
As I think about what to leave behind in 2025, I've found it essential to recognize emotionally draining friendships and relationships that no longer serve my well-being. Setting boundaries has been tough but necessary — I've stopped giving to people who only take, and instead focus on nourishing connections that uplift me. Overcommitting to things I don't want to do was also an obstacle. Saying no felt uncomfortable at first, but it’s freeing to prioritize my own needs and mental health. I learned to communicate my needs more clearly instead of pressing others to change or excusing unhealthy behavior. This has allowed me to take back my power intentionally. Reflecting on the OCR's insightful list, especially about not blaming myself for things beyond my control and avoiding reacting impulsively, struck a chord. I've practiced taking a step back to respond thoughtfully rather than reacting in the moment, which has helped me gain emotional stability. Spiritually, diving deeper into prayer and Bible reading has been a transformative anchor through challenges. Running to God not only during suffering but in everyday life brings peace and resilience. It surprises me how much His love moves me in ways nothing else does. Lastly, acknowledging that some friendships might only meet occasionally, yet still being treasured, has reminded me not to force connections. Real relationships flow naturally and are based on sincerity. Leaving behind toxic dynamics means making room for authenticity and love. With these insights, I feel more prepared to step into 2026 with clarity, hope, and healthier relationships — leaving behind what drains me and embracing what nurtures my soul.
