South side of the Monzanos

My recent trip to the Manzano Mountains was absolutely unforgettable, especially exploring the south side! I've always been drawn to New Mexico's landscapes, but this area truly captured my heart. Don't forget to bring plenty of water, good hiking shoes with ankle support for the rocky terrain, and your camera – you'll want to capture every stunning moment of these Manzano Mountains. I even saw some wildlife, mostly birds of prey soaring above, and some smaller desert creatures, reminding me of the vibrant ecosystem here. The feeling of being in such an untouched wilderness was so invigorating. What I loved most about the south side was the sense of discovery. It feels less trodden than some other areas, offering a more intimate experience with the landscape. From the unique green shrubs clinging to the rocky terrain to the panoramic outlooks that stretch for miles, it's a paradise for photographers and nature lovers alike. There's a particular quietness here, a true sense of peace that you don't often find.
