✨Quest Review ✨

4.5/ 10 🍓

I really love the Quest brand so when I saw these I was super excited but I was disappointed by the flavoring :(

you can definitely taste the artificial flavoring, it’s a little bit too overpowering for me.

💌Would you like to see the Quest products I recommend??

... Read moreOkay, so you've heard my initial thoughts on the Quest Frosted Strawberry Cake Cookies, and yep, I was pretty let down by the artificial flavoring. It’s such a shame because I genuinely love the Quest brand and usually find their products to be a fantastic way to satisfy cravings without derailing my healthy eating goals. When I first spotted these, with their promise of 'strawberry cake' and a frosted topping, I immediately envisioned a delicious, guilt-free treat – especially seeing the '5g protein,' '1g net carbs,' and '<1g sugar per serving' clearly displayed on the box. Those macros are usually a home run for me! But from the very first bite, that strong, almost chemical-like artificial strawberry taste just took over. It wasn't the fresh, vibrant strawberry I was hoping for, nor the subtle sweetness you'd expect from a 'cake' flavor. It felt like it was trying too hard to be sweet without actually delivering a natural fruit essence. I really wanted to like them, especially given that impressive protein count for a cookie. I even tried letting them sit out for a bit, thinking maybe the temperature affected the flavor, but no luck. This experience really highlighted for me how crucial flavor balance is, even in a low-carb, high-protein snack. While the nutritional panel is definitely appealing for anyone watching their sugar and carb intake, the overpowering artificiality made it hard to enjoy. It makes me wonder if they could dial back the intensity a bit and perhaps aim for a more natural flavor profile, even if it meant a slight adjustment to the macros. Speaking of other Quest products, I know many people wonder about how these cookies compare to, say, microwaved Quest bars. Personally, I find many of their protein bars, when zapped for a few seconds, transform into a warm, gooey delight – almost like a fresh-baked good. I haven't tried microwaving these specific cookies, as I felt the flavor wouldn't improve, but for other Quest cookies or bars, it's often a game-changer. It's something to consider if you ever find yourself with a box and want to experiment! And for those of you who, like me, are always on the lookout for good deals, Quest products often pop up at places like Costco. While buying in bulk can be great for savings, it’s also a commitment. My advice? If you're new to a specific Quest flavor or product, try a single bar or a small pack first, if possible. That way, you won't end up with a whole box of something that doesn't quite hit your taste buds right, like my experience with these strawberry cake cookies. All in all, while the Quest Frosted Strawberry Cake Cookies deliver on their nutritional promise, the flavor just wasn't for me. If you're sensitive to artificial sweeteners or flavors, you might want to approach these with caution. But don't let this deter you from the wider Quest range – there are absolutely some gems out there that I can wholeheartedly recommend!
