Spend a day in Portland w/ me🌹

... Read moreSpending a day in Portland, Oregon, is an absolute blast, and I'm so excited to share my favorite way to experience this unique city! If you're looking for the ultimate one-day itinerary, you've come to the right place. Portland is known for its quirky charm, amazing food scene, and abundance of independent shops, making it a perfect spot for exploration. My ideal day in Portland, OR, often starts with a classic: a visit to Voodoo Doughnut for a truly iconic (and often debated!) breakfast treat. While the lines can be long, it's a quintessential Portland experience. If you prefer something less sugary, grab a delicious pastry and coffee from a local spot like Stumptown Coffee Roasters – a true Portland institution. Fueling up is key when you have so many fun things to do! Next, I love heading to Powell's City of Books. This isn't just a bookstore; it's a city block-sized wonderland for book lovers. You could easily spend hours wandering its colorful rooms and discovering hidden gems. It’s definitely one of the top places to visit in Portland, whether you’re a reader or not. After browsing, a stroll through the Pearl District offers a chance to admire beautiful architecture and pop into some unique boutiques. For lunch, you absolutely have to experience Portland's famous food truck scene. Pioneer Courthouse Square or the carts on SW 10th & Alder are fantastic spots to find an incredible variety of delicious and affordable options. From gourmet tacos to authentic Thai, there's something to satisfy every craving. This is one of the best ways to get a taste of what Portland is known for culinary-wise. The afternoon calls for a dose of nature and culture. A visit to the International Rose Test Garden offers stunning views of the city and Mount Hood on a clear day, alongside thousands of beautiful roses. Alternatively, if you're into local history and art, the Portland Art Museum offers diverse collections. Many visitors also enjoy exploring the serene Portland Japanese Garden nearby – a truly peaceful escape from the city hustle. These are some of the cool places in Portland that shouldn't be missed. As evening approaches, the city truly comes alive. For dinner, I usually seek out a cozy eatery in the Alberta Arts District or Division Street, both known for their vibrant dining scenes. After a delicious meal, it's time to soak in Portland's renowned music scene. There are countless venues, from intimate clubs to larger theaters, offering live music almost every night. Checking out a local band is one of my favorite activities in Portland. To cap off your day, perhaps grab a craft beer at one of Portland's many microbreweries or enjoy a unique cocktail at a speakeasy. Spending a day in Portland with me means experiencing a mix of iconic sights, delicious food, and that unmistakable independent spirit. I hope this itinerary helps you plan your own amazing adventure!
