I’m excited to share that I’ve officially earned my BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences from City College! This milestone is just the beginning of a bigger vision I have for myself and my community.
In Spring 2026, I plan to begin my Master’s in Childhood and Special Childhood Education. I’ve always had a passion for working with children, and I’m currently deep into research and building a strong portfolio to launch something truly meaningful: my own daycare; a nurturing, inclusive space for learning, growing, and love by late 2026 or early 2027.
Right now, I’m actively seeking opportunities that will help guide and support this journey whether it’s:
• Work in early childhood education
• Mentorship or advice on opening a daycare
• Opportunities in community building, child development, or educational leadership
• Networking with like-minded professionals
If you’re in this space or know someone who is, I’d love to connect. I’m committed, driven, and building something beautiful! one step at a time. 💛
A Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences equips individuals with a broad interdisciplinary foundation, fostering critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills that are essential for careers in education and community development. This diverse academic background supports the author’s transition into specialized studies in Childhood and Special Childhood Education, which focuses on pedagogical techniques, developmental psychology, and inclusive classroom practices to support children with diverse learning needs. Starting a daycare requires a blend of educational knowledge, business planning, and leadership skills. An inclusive daycare environment prioritizes diversity, equity, and emotional well-being alongside academic development. It typically integrates strategies for children with special needs, fostering a supportive atmosphere that encourages all areas of growth: cognitive, social, emotional, and physical. Entrepreneurs in this field benefit from mentorship and collaboration with experienced professionals in early childhood education, community building, and educational leadership. Networking with like-minded individuals can provide invaluable advice on regulatory compliance, curriculum development, staffing, and attracting families. Engagement with local communities and education experts can enhance the daycare’s role as a trusted space for families seeking nurturing care. Emerging trends emphasize play-based learning, social-emotional development, and family involvement. Those interested in opening a daycare should also explore scholarships and grant opportunities that support educational startups, particularly those focused on inclusivity and child development. Ultimately, building a daycare aligned with these values not only serves immediate educational needs but also contributes to the long-term vitality and cohesion of the community.
