It showed him I was interested in knowing him genuinely rather than rushing into something he wasn’t ready for. Approaching conversations this way can help reduce awkwardness and build trust. Even if the other person remains uninterested in dating, these kinds of respectful discussions can pave the way for future closeness or friendships.
