White Night, first published in 1848 before Dostoyevsky was arrested in April, 1849.

🤍 The book tells the unrequited love story of 'I,' an anonymous, socially lonely young man, in a four-night and one morning period.

🤍 For us, this anonymous young man, although he is lonely and allows himself to be immersed in daily fantasies, but when he is in love with 'Nastinka', a young woman with deep fear makes her have a red flage of love for him, but he is faithful to his own feelings and understands, accepts all dimensions of his own feelings. Many of the conversations in this short story reflect psychological thinking, which is an important point for us to enjoy reading, thinking and reviewing with ourselves.

🤍 when we chose this book, we didn't expect anything, just wanted to have a booklet to read on a short trip, we didn't know a Russian novelist, and it turned out that it surprised us and was interested in reading another book that was Dostoyevsky's writing. It's not surprising that Nietzsche said of this novelist in Twilight of the Idols (1888), "Dostoyevsky, the only psychologist I learned something from."
