Last slide is the key 😉

One key factor I’ve learned is avoiding super hot showers after tanning sessions. Hot water dries out the skin, causing uneven peeling and fading. Instead, lukewarm showers help retain moisture. Moisturizing daily is also crucial; I always apply body lotion immediately after showering to lock in hydration. This prevents dryness which can dull your tan. Also, if you swim often, especially in chlorinated pools, make sure to rinse off thoroughly as chlorine strips natural oils and leaves your skin looking ashy. Hydration from the inside is just as important—drinking plenty of water keeps your skin supple and your tan glowing. Over-exfoliating is a mistake I made before knowing better. Scrubbing or using acids too frequently causes the tan to fade faster. It’s best to exfoliate before tanning, preparing the skin, rather than after. Finally, having a structured tanning routine with regular application of a glowy SPF combined with tanning lotion prolongs your tan safely. I follow a timed schedule of 30 minutes on each side, followed by break time for hydration and snacks to keep energy up. Then I continue with shorter tanning sessions before moisturizing to seal the tan. Incorporating these steps consistently has transformed how my tan lasts across the summer—smooth, radiant, and even-toned. Remember, your skin’s health is the foundation for a great tan!
