For example, while the water from the Amazon River is naturally drinkable, stagnant water can contain high levels of bacteria that can even lead to skin decay upon contact, so it should be avoided. British tap water is drinkable though it tends to be hard with a slightly unpleasant taste. I was also fascinated by rare and unusual natural phenomena, such as graupel – a form of weakly frozen snow distinct from powder or hail, which reminded me of the varied textures of snow one can encounter in mountain regions. Another mesmerizing sight I encountered was a sun dog, a rare optical phenomenon caused by ice crystals in the atmosphere, creating bright spots in the sky next to the sun – quite a highlight for photography enthusiasts. In terms of animal encounters, meeting creatures like the Himalayan marmot, a groundhog species, and the Baikal seal, the only freshwater seal in the world, were unforgettable. Both species are harmless to humans, allowing for touch-friendly wildlife experiences. Contrastingly, distinguishing animal types is crucial; for example, seals with bushy beards or crests may look intimidating but are generally non-aggressive. One of the most extravagant discoveries was the so-called 24K gold mineral water, which contains edible gold flakes and is valued extremely high per bottle, around $60,000. While technically drinkable, such luxury water is more a collector’s item than a daily hydration source. Exploring micro natural features like the smallest volcano Muji or the smallest river Alxa gives perspective on the diversity of Earth's geography. In all, knowing the safety and uniqueness of natural waters, snow types, and fauna not only enriches travel experiences but also raises awareness of environmental protection and personal safety during nature adventures.
