I think about this a lot..
Especially navigating being a founder. Sometimes timing just isn’t right. Sometimes you have to put your nervous system first and take a week of doing nothing- and then sometimes you have to grind and give yourself grace for not having perfect balance in physical activity, nutrition, family, relationship & business.
I have been on an absolute roller coaster these past few months navigating how to stand tall as a founder. Building confidence, and dissecting the parts that are not aligned. Birthing a brand that I really, really, am proud of.
Each season has required a different kind of strength.
The biggest blessings in life and business is having someone beside you who doesn’t only love you when the sun is out.
Someone who can stand next to you in the rain, help you think clearly, laugh with you when nothing makes sense, and remind you who you are when the pressure makes you forget.
Oh, and the flip side, someone that puts healthy pressure on you becuase they see your potential on days you do not.
Building anything real takes so much more than strategy. It takes nervous system regulating, trust, and honest conversations. It takes someone who can see the vision even when the day feels messy.
I love being each others rock & side kick ❤️ @travisstrote
Building a brand or business from the ground up is more than just setting goals and executing strategies—it’s a deeply personal journey that demands emotional resilience and self-compassion. From my experience, one of the biggest challenges founders face is managing their nervous system amidst high stress and uncertainty. Taking intentional breaks to rest, recalibrate, and emotionally process can feel counter-intuitive when the pressure to 'grind' is immense, but it's a critical part of sustainable success. I recall times when stepping back for a few days of rest helped me return to my work with renewed clarity and strength. Balancing physical health, nutrition, and family while pursuing business ambitions isn’t always perfect, and that’s okay. Giving yourself grace to accept the ebb and flow of productivity is essential. Equally important is having a support system that stands with you through both your brightest and stormiest days. The metaphor from the OCR content, “the same rain that hurts the ice cream seller helps the umbrella seller,” resonates deeply. The hardships we face may challenge us, but those who truly believe in our vision will encourage and hold space for us even when things feel messy or unclear. This healthy pressure—when someone sees your untapped potential even when you doubt yourself—can be a powerful catalyst for growth. Finally, honest conversations and trust lay the foundation of any lasting venture. Sharing your vulnerabilities, discussing doubts, and celebrating small wins together with your confidants enriches the journey. Be it a partner, mentor, or friend, having that rock beside you reminds you of who you are and the vision you aim to bring to life, even on days when the path seems uncertain.
