Reflecting on the question, "What's something you're proud of yourself?" really makes you think. Beyond the incredible blessing of having a healthy family, which is truly paramount, there are so many other facets of ourselves we can be proud of. It’s not always about grand achievements; sometimes, it’s the quiet strength, the small daily victories, or the core values we uphold. For me, one of my favorite things about myself, beyond my role as a mom, is my resilience. Life throws curveballs, and there have been times I've felt overwhelmed, but I've always found a way to push through, learn from the challenges, and come out stronger. That inner grit, that refusal to give up, is something I truly value within myself. It’s a quiet determination that helps me navigate the ups and downs of raising a big family and managing daily life. I'm also really proud of my ability to find joy in small moments. With five children, chaos can often be the norm! But I’ve learned to truly appreciate the spontaneous giggles, a shared glance with my spouse, or even just a peaceful cup of coffee in the morning. This mindset helps keep things in perspective and ensures that even amidst the busiest days, happiness isn't lost. It's a skill I've cultivated over the years, and it makes every day richer. Another aspect I appreciate about myself is my capacity for empathy. I try my best to understand others' perspectives, whether it's one of my kids having a tough day at school or a friend going through a difficult time. Being a good listener and offering support without judgment is something I strive for, and when I can genuinely connect with someone and make them feel heard, it truly makes me proud. Lastly, I'm proud of my continuous effort to learn and grow. Whether it's picking up a new hobby, reading a book that challenges my thinking, or simply trying a new recipe, I believe in lifelong learning. It keeps life interesting and helps me be a better role model for my children. It shows them that growth never stops, no matter your age. So, while my family's health and happiness are my ultimate pride, these personal qualities also contribute to the person I am.
