From my personal experience, I can say that incorporating dance and rhythmic movement into my daily routine has been a game changer. When my hormones feel like they’re 'doing the most,' putting on my favorite upbeat playlist and allowing myself to dance freely is not just fun—it’s therapeutic. Movement stimulates the release of endorphins, the body's natural mood lifters, helping to ease anxiety and stress that often accompany hormonal changes. This simple practice also gives a sense of control and empowerment, reminding me that while some aspects of this phase are unpredictable, I can choose to respond with positivity and self-care. Beyond emotional benefits, dancing boosts cardiovascular health, improves balance, and enhances overall energy—key factors that support women through midlife transitions. I recommend creating a personalized playlist filled with tunes that uplift your spirit and match your energy. Even five to ten minutes of dancing in your living room can refresh your mindset and prepare you to tackle the to-do list with renewed vigor. Sharing this approach with fellow peri and menopause friends has fostered a community where we uplift each other, promote self-motivation, and celebrate the courage to keep going despite challenges. Remember, it’s okay to have 'loud hormones' days. On those days, let the music guide you, and dance your way into a brighter weekend!
