People always say one phone call can change your life.
For us, it happened twice.
The first call was asking if we could take an emergency placement for a 3-day-old baby boy. The second came the following year for a tiny baby girl. We had no idea those two “yeses” would become the greatest blessings of our lives.
They were the caboose to our family, joining our other three children and fitting in as though they’d always been there. From the very beginning, they completed something we didn’t even realize was missing.
We’ve been there for the first smiles, first steps, first birthdays, bedtime stories, school mornings, scraped knees, and countless hugs. They have always been our children in every way that mattered.
