What if you weren’t denied, but simply not ready?

What if you weren’t denied, but simply not ready?

We have all had those moments of unanswered prayers.

Those times when we wanted something so badly. We expected it to happen. We believed it should happen. And when it didn’t, we were devastated, hurt, angry, and disappointed.

Then we kept reliving it.

Over and over again.

That disappointment became catabolic energy because our mind stayed attached to what we believed should have happened.

But then one day something does happen.

Something comes together at exactly the right time. An opportunity appears. A door opens. A moment arrives that helps us rise and become more of who we were meant to be.

Suddenly, some of those unanswered prayers begin to make sense.

Maybe we weren’t ready then.

Maybe we needed more experience, wisdom, strength, patience, or growth.

Or maybe what we wanted simply wasn’t meant for us.

The problem is our ego loves expectations. It tells us we deserved it. That it should have happened. That somehow life owed us the outcome we wanted.

But life owes us nothing.

Life itself is the gift.

Gratitude changes how we see the moments that didn’t go our way. Instead of carrying disappointment, we can recognize that the waiting was part of our growth.

You weren’t necessarily being denied.

You may have been being prepared.

Practice gratitude for what happened, what didn’t happen, and what is happening right now.

Release the expectation of what life owes you.

Be grateful for the gift of life itself.

Then live it as such.

I remember a time when I was eagerly awaiting a career opportunity that never materialized, leaving me feeling crushed and confused. At first, I saw it as a denial—life letting me down. However, over time, I began to understand that perhaps I needed more experience and growth before I could truly succeed in that role. This shift from seeing rejection as failure to viewing it as preparation helped me release my ego-driven expectations and feel gratitude instead. Gratitude, in particular, has proven to be a powerful tool. When I started practicing gratitude for experiences that didn’t go my way, I noticed a remarkable change in my mindset. Instead of focusing on what was lost, I appreciated the lessons learned and the strength gained. It’s like a closed road on my journey was actually a diversion leading me to a better path I hadn’t previously considered. The phrase “Sometimes what didn’t happen prepared you for what finally did” resonates deeply with me. It’s important to realize that life owes us nothing, yet it grants us the invaluable gift of time and growth. Being patient and open to internal reflection during those waiting periods can prepare us for the right moments when opportunities align perfectly. Using this insight, I’ve also found it helpful to regularly edit my goals and internal thoughts to stay aligned with my current growth. This practice keeps my ego in check and my expectations realistic, fostering resilience even amidst disappointments. Incorporating gratitude into daily life and trusting in the timing of events can truly transform painful experiences into stepping stones for becoming who we were meant to be. This mindset shift invites us to live each day fully, grateful for both what happens and what doesn’t, knowing that every moment is part of our unique journey.
