I remember talking with my husband and telling him how I wanted to lose weight but I thought it was physically impossible so I wanted to try a glp1. I thank god every day that he told me no.

He said “Megan, all you have to do is listen to me, I got you.” And I did I started to actually listen to my husband! When I wanted to take the short cut he didn’t let me. I took a long hard look at myself in the mirror, I have always been active I knew I had muscle mass under all the fat. But I also knew if I took the easy way out there was a possibility that I would lose a lot of my muscle and I didn’t want to do that.

My husband told me that he wanted me to get bloodwork done, come to find out my hormones were completely shot after having my kids. Like TANKED! ( All levels were extremely low) I was recommended to hop on a low therapeutic dose of testosterone and progesterone to get me feeling like myself again (going through a lot of depression and fatigue at that time). Almost immediately I started to feel more like myself. I noticed the weight started to fall off. My mood was more stable, depression pretty much went away. Everything started to feel normal!

You’re hormone health could be a massive reason why PPD is hitting so bad, why you can’t lose weight, why you feel like you are going crazy. Please do yourself a favor and get the bloodwork done. Sometimes your body isn’t doing exactly what it needs to do! 🤘🏼 I’m happy to answer any questions you guys have about my journey! 🫶🏻

... Read moreFrom my personal experience, I can attest that incorporating heavy lifting and strength training played a major role in protecting my muscle mass while losing weight after having kids. Many postpartum women focus solely on cardio or drastic diets, but strengthening muscles actually supports better metabolism and body composition. When I first heard about the benefit of heavy lifting from the JRGE group URGE FITNESS tagline, it really resonated with me because I realized my body needed more than just calorie cutting. Also, hormone imbalances can significantly affect your energy, mood, and ability to shed pounds. After having my children, my testosterone and progesterone levels were extremely low, contributing to severe fatigue and postpartum depression (PPD). Getting comprehensive bloodwork done was a game-changer; it helped identify the root cause rather than just treating symptoms. The low therapeutic hormone therapy recommended by my doctor improved my mental health and started my weight loss journey on the right foot. If you are struggling with feeling stuck, uncontrollable fatigue, or mood swings after pregnancy, I strongly suggest getting a full hormone panel done. It might be the key that unlocks your progress. And don't be discouraged by the idea of taking prescribed hormones—when monitored correctly, they can help restore balance and energy, making fitness and healthy habits more achievable. Lastly, having a support system makes all the difference. My husband’s encouragement to avoid quick pharmaceutical fixes like GLP-1 agonists and to focus on a sustainable approach changed my mindset. Listening to his advice pushed me to commit to natural strategies supplemented by medical guidance. In summary, combining hormone health checks, strength training to maintain your muscle mass, and having support can transform the postpartum weight loss journey from frustrating to empowering. Remember, it's not about shortcuts but smart, holistic care tailored to your body’s unique needs.
