... Read moreChristmas is truly the most wonderful time of the year, especially when you have a big family like ours! With two adults and four wonderful children, our home truly comes alive during the holiday season. As we look forward to Christmas 2025, I've been reflecting on the traditions that make our celebrations so special and how we create those 'happy moments' that we all cherish. One of our absolute favorite traditions, which you might have seen in our photos by the beautifully lit Christmas tree, is our matching pajama night! Every Christmas Eve, after all the last-minute preparations are done, we all change into our festive pajamas. It’s such a simple thing, but seeing everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, in their matching outfits brings so much joy and gets us all in the holiday spirit. We gather around the tree, read a Christmas story, and often enjoy some hot cocoa. It’s a moment of pure coziness and togetherness before the excitement of Christmas morning takes over. Planning for Christmas 2025 has already got me thinking about new ways to involve everyone. With six of us, finding activities that appeal to all age groups can be a fun challenge! We love baking cookies together – gingerbread men and sugar cookies are always a hit. It’s a messy but incredibly fun activity that fills the house with amazing aromas and gives us delicious treats to share (or eat ourselves!). Another tradition is our family Christmas movie marathon. We pick a few classics, pop some popcorn, and snuggle up under blankets. It’s fantastic for winding down after a busy day and truly embracing the festive season. We also make sure to incorporate thoughtful gifting. Instead of a huge pile of presents for each person, we focus on a 'want, need, wear, read' approach, which helps keep things manageable and more meaningful. For our four children, this has taught them to appreciate each gift more and think about what they truly desire or need. Plus, it’s a great way to manage the budget for a larger family, ensuring that Christmas 2025 remains joyful without becoming overwhelming. Creating those lasting memories isn't just about the big day itself. It’s about the build-up! From decorating the Christmas tree together, where everyone gets to hang their favorite ornament, to making handmade cards for relatives, each little activity adds to the festive atmosphere. These are the precious 'happy moments' that truly define our family Christmas. I hope these ideas inspire you to plan your own unforgettable family Christmas 2025, filled with love, laughter, and cozy traditions that you’ll look back on for years to come!
