I cannot believe that is what I looked like a year ago. The first photo was June 2023 bottom left December 2023 top right May 2024 and bottom right July 5. 2024
then we have January 2025
I have always been over weight. I was diagnosed with cancer Feb in 2018 and had a reoccurrence September 2018 then again in 2019 and the in 2023
Had 2 different types of chemo, external radiation and internal radiation.
I struggled with binge eating and still do. not like before where I would eat all the time and couldn’t stop. I had the gastric sleeve 11/29/24 best decision I ever made.
I let go of a lot of thing over the course of fall 2024 thru now I’m not finished yet but I am much happier even if I need some help with anxiety #glowupchallenges #doingitformyself #howtoloveyourself #letgoandgrow
Looking back over the past few years, I realize how much my health journey has shaped not only my body but my mindset and overall well-being. Being diagnosed with cancer multiple times was truly overwhelming, and the treatments — different chemo regimens, external and internal radiation — took a major toll physically and emotionally. It was a constant battle just to keep moving forward. Throughout this time, I struggled with binge eating. It was my coping mechanism during those tough moments, even though I always wanted to break free from it. Getting the gastric sleeve surgery on November 29, 2024, was a turning point. It didn't just aid physical weight loss but gave me the strength and motivation to work on myself mentally. It felt like reclaiming control over a part of my life that had felt so uncontrollable before. Change didn’t happen overnight, and some days are still challenging—especially managing anxiety—but I have learned to be kinder to myself. Letting go of negative self-talk and the past helped me grow more confident and happier. It was important for me to recognize that healing isn’t only about the physical—it involves loving yourself through the hardest times. Being part of communities and challenges like #glowupchallenges, #doingitformyself, #howtoloveyourself, and #letgoandgrow helped me feel supported and understood. Sharing my story is part of that healing process, hoping it encourages others facing similar struggles. Progress is personal, and every small step counts. If you’re going through a tough health or weight journey, remember that setbacks don't define you. Celebrate every victory, seek help when needed, and keep believing in your worth. Self-love and growth are ongoing, but with patience and courage, a happier and healthier you is possible.
