No matter the genre of the book you read, whether purposeful or unintentional, the author will mirror an aspect of our real world. It can be to show us a form of injustice people experience, or to let us experience the life of a CEO, doctor, bookstore owner or barista. Remember, authors find inspiration from LIFE, even if it isn’t their own life. Even if they don’t realize it.
Books give us the opportunity to see the world in a different perspective. Critically analyzing the stories you read doesn’t mean you need to write an essay like in Language Arts class. It just means taking the time to understand that there is more depth and meaning than what is on the surface. Don’t turn your brain off everytime you read. You can still enjoy a good story while learning something new 🥰
