Is this $355 jacket worth it??
You guys seemed to like my last post of “is it worth it?” so let’s run it back again with this trench coat from Sezane!
This is the Clyde Trench coat from Sezane in color light beige. The coat is $355 which can definitely be steep for a trench coat. I wear a size 6, which is my normal size. I’m also 5’11. They recommend sizing down if you’re in between sizes, but I definitely prefer my true size.
The jacket is 100% cotton which is nice since you’re paying the higher price and we all hate polyester! The cutest detail is the checkered inside pattern.
I say it is 10000% worth it! I wear this trench coat SOOO much. It’s great for multiple seasons so you can wear it soooo much (which is nice since it’s pricey!). I love it for the fall and spring time. It goes over all my outfits and is so easy to pack for trips. I love this jacket and would recommend to anyone!!
If you’re looking for an alternative option, I have seen some dupes that might be more budget friendly. Do you agree that it’s worth it?! #lemon8partner
Building on my love for the Sezane Clyde Trench, I wanted to dive deeper into how truly versatile this long coat is, especially for those warmer transitional days. While I often pair it with jeans or over a dress, one of my favorite, yet often overlooked, ways to style a trench coat is with shorts! It might sound unconventional at first, but trust me, it creates such a chic and unexpected silhouette. I know many of you are looking for fresh ways to wear your long coats, and pairing my light beige trench with shorts has become a go-to for me when I want to feel put-together but still casual. The key is balance. Since the trench adds a lot of length and structure, opting for tailored or denim shorts that hit mid-thigh works beautifully. For a super casual vibe, I'll throw my trench over a simple white tee and classic denim shorts with some stylish sneakers. It instantly elevates the look from just 'running errands' to 'effortlessly cool.' The 100% cotton material of the Clyde Trench means it feels amazing, even on warmer days, and doesn't make you feel overheated like some heavier coats can. For something a bit more polished, I love pairing my trench with linen or tailored shorts in a neutral color – think black, cream, or olive. I'll usually add a crisp button-down shirt or a fitted knit top underneath. Finishing this look with loafers or low-heeled sandals gives it a sophisticated edge that's perfect for brunch or a casual meeting. The checkered interior of the Sezane Clyde is a fun detail that sometimes peeks out, adding a subtle touch of personality, no matter how I style it. Don't forget about layering! Even with shorts, you can play with different tops. A simple tank top for scorching days or a light long-sleeve top for cooler mornings. The beauty of a long trench like this is its ability to tie an entire outfit together. It acts as a fantastic visual anchor, making even the simplest shorts and top combination look intentional and stylish. I've even worn it over a 'pink top and jeans' combo in cooler weather, but swapping the jeans for shorts on a warm day works just as well. When it comes to accessories, keep it simple to let the trench and the shorts combination shine. A classic crossbody bag, some delicate jewelry, and a pair of sunglasses are usually all you need. Footwear can really dictate the vibe: sneakers for casual, sandals for breezy, and ankle boots (yes, even with shorts!) for a fashion-forward, edgy look, especially during early fall. So, if you've been wondering how to get more mileage out of your beautiful long trench coat, especially in seasons beyond deep winter, give the shorts pairing a try! It’s a game-changer for versatility and adds such an interesting dynamic to your wardrobe. This Sezane Clyde, with its incredible quality and timeless design, truly shines in these adaptable styling moments.
