Help!! Pelvic congestion syndrome
The last time I asked for advice you guys came in a clutch! I was wondering if any one has ever dealt with this before and had any advice, tip, tricks literally anything that can help me!!
I got diagnosed last year, thank God because it had been going on for years. They finally caught it on a sonogram thank God for doctors who know how to do their job. I’m on two different birth control’s pain medication and some days. It’s just not enough actually a lot of days it’s not enough feels like my back is snapping in half. It makes me miserable. Gives me anxiety and I’m so done with not being able to do the things that I really want to do.
From what I gather, it’s a hereditary defect. I don’t talk to my birth mother, so I wouldn’t know if it’s an issue on her side and all the women from my father side of the family has went to glory land.
But if you have this or know someone who has and know what has worked for them, I ’d love to hear the stories all the things because the doctor isn’t much help. I’m her first case and she’s been a practicing doctor for 25 years.
Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS) is characterized by chronic pelvic pain, often due to congested veins in the pelvic region. Women are disproportionately affected, and the pain can significantly impact quality of life. Symptoms may include lower abdominal pressure, back pain, and discomfort during intercourse. Diagnosis often involves imaging techniques such as sonograms to identify the particular patterns of vein dilation. Treatment options may range from lifestyle changes to hormonal therapies that can help alleviate symptoms. Patients often report varying levels of effectiveness with pain management methods and may benefit from alternative treatments such as physical therapy, acupuncture, or even surgical interventions in severe cases. Sharing experiences with PCS support groups can provide emotional support and practical tips, enhancing the overall coping strategies for individuals facing this condition. Regular consultations with healthcare professionals who are familiar with PCS can also offer personalized management plans tailored to individual needs.
