The perfect summer makeup routine!

A someone with oily/occasionally dry and acne prone skin, finding a makeup routine for summer that lasts takes trial and error! These products have been my go-to’s and for good reason; During summer I want my makeup to look natural, glowy, and last in the heat, but still provide coverage to my problem areas.

🫧 skin prep: the most essential step to ensure your base looks ✨flawless✨ The byoma milky toner is a dupe for both the ilia and Rhode variation and its WAY cheaper. My skin drinks it up like water and hydrated skin is key to avoiding patchiness. During the summer I like to use a lightweight gel moisturizer and the drink elephant coconut water cream has been my favorite for years! Never skip spf even if it’s cloudy out; the kravebeauty beet the sun sunscreen lays beautifully under makeup and doesn’t cause moisturizer underneath or makeup on top to pill!

🫧 base & brows: the iconic london blurring primer followed by the lumi glotion leaves such a beautiful, blurred base that looks like you’re glowing from within. For brows, I love a finer tip pencil and the benefit precisely my brow pencil is just that. The Nyx brow glue keeps the brows STUCK all day.

🫧 concealer: tower28 concealer is that girl! So hydrating and the finish is gorgeous. Perfect for no makeup days or full coverage ones.

🫧 blush: Patrick ta blush duos are so good I have more than one. The cream & powder set beautiful on top of makeup and last seriously all day long! Rhode pocket blush is a newer addition but I love love love the satin finish.

🫧 lippies: these 4 glosses I keep on my person at all times! The ulta lip stain is a perfect benetint dupe and I love using as a base for any lip for added longevity. Glossier is the perfect mix between a balm and a gloss and hydrates without feeling sticky. The Patrick ta and Rhode glosses are perfect for adding that extra oomph to finish off any look.

🫧 final touches: I cannot recommend the Charlotte Tilbury powder enough. This is the only powder I’ve ever hit pan on and blurs any texture, especially when used with the Sephora brand powder puff. Glossier lash slick in brown is a new addition but I’ve been loving it for softer makeup days and it doesn’t transfer on my eyelids!! For more dramatic looks, elf’s lash n roll makes my lashes look stunning and holds curl like a dream.

... Read moreCreating the perfect summer makeup routine can be tricky, especially for those with oily or acne-prone skin. The key is to use products that provide hydration, lasting coverage, and a naturally glowy finish. A good skincare base is essential; using a hydrating toner like Byoma’s milky toner can help create a smooth canvas. It's vital to follow up with a lightweight gel moisturizer to prevent makeup from looking patchy in the heat. Never underestimate the importance of SPF! Products like Krave Beauty's ‘Beet the Sun’ sunscreen not only protect your skin but also enhance your makeup's longevity by preventing pilling. Choosing the right primer is equally important; blurring primers can give that soft-focus effect while ensuring your makeup stays intact. For an effortless complexion, consider using a light concealer that hydrates, like the Tower 28 concealer, which is perfect for both no-makeup days and more polished looks. Adding a cream and powder blush duo, such as those from Patrick Ta, not only provides colorful flair but also ensures your look lasts all day. Lastly, don’t forget about your finishing touches! A good setting powder can blur texture and lock in your look. Products like Charlotte Tilbury powder can create a flawless finish that lasts in warm weather. Remember, the right makeup routine not only enhances your natural beauty but also lasts through the summer heat. Don't hesitate to share your own summer makeup essentials!
