Most of us know #elfcosmetics for their affordability and yes, a lot of their products are worth the hype! I used both products for the look in the last image.

As always on to the honest reviews! The primer is not my favorite texture. I found it to be too sticky for my personal preference, but I also know this is a dupe for the Hydro Grip primer by Milk (although I haven’t tried that one to personally to compare). What people may not know is that this one has hyaluronic acid in it, and they have a pink version with niacinamide. This one was three out of five stars. It worked and I would still suggest it to friends to test out, but I personally can’t see myself buying it again.

The setting spray is a definite new fav, especially as a drug store option. I love how fine of a mist this one is! It sprays nice and evenly. Plus it dries quickly. There was no strong scent to it either which is another win in my books. It works super well in my opinion. This one is five out of five stars for me. I would highly recommend it to others, and definitely repurchase to keep in my routine.

... Read moreAs someone who's always on the hunt for affordable yet effective makeup, the buzz around the ELF Power Grip Primer and Dewy Setting Spray really caught my attention. This 'viral beauty duo' has been everywhere, and I couldn't wait to see if it lived up to its reputation, especially considering the specific types of products people are searching for, like the 'elf power grip primer green bottle' and the 'e.l.f. power grip dewy setting spray green bottle.' Let's dive deeper into the Power Grip Primer. While the original article mentioned its sticky texture, it's worth exploring why this characteristic can actually be a benefit for many. The stickiness is intentional; it's designed to create a gripping surface that holds onto your foundation and other face makeup, helping it last longer throughout the day. For those with oily or combination skin, this can be a game-changer, as it provides a robust base that prevents makeup from sliding around. Personally, I've found that applying a thin, even layer and letting it set for a minute or two before foundation makes a huge difference. It feels a bit tacky at first, but once foundation is on, that sensation disappears, leaving a smooth canvas. The inclusion of hyaluronic acid in the green primer tube is also a big plus, as it helps to hydrate the skin, giving a plumper, more refreshed look underneath your makeup. I've even seen some users do a 'swatch before drying' on their hand to see just how tacky it gets, which is a great way to test its grip! For those who prefer a different ingredient, it's great that ELF offers a pink version with niacinamide, catering to various skin concerns. Now, onto the Power Grip Dewy Setting Spray. This product truly shines, and for me, it’s a definite repurchase. The original article rightly praised its 'fine mist,' which is crucial for a setting spray. A fine, even mist ensures that the product is distributed uniformly across the face without leaving large droplets that can disturb your makeup. I’ve tried countless setting sprays, and a clunky sprayer can ruin the experience. This one sprays beautifully and dries quickly, meaning you don't have to stand around waiting for your face to dry before moving on with your day. The absence of a strong scent is another major win; for those with sensitive skin or fragrance sensitivities, this makes it an ideal choice. Beyond just setting makeup, a dewy setting spray helps to meld all your powder products into the skin, giving a more natural, skin-like finish rather than a chalky or overly matte look. I love using it both before and after my foundation for an extra boost of hydration and longevity. It genuinely helps my makeup last hours longer, even on busy days. This 'green dewy setting spray bottle' has definitely earned its viral status in my book. Ultimately, deciding if this 'viral grip' duo is for you depends on your preferences and skin type. If you're looking for a primer that genuinely extends the wear of your makeup and don't mind a slightly tacky feel for superior grip, the Power Grip Primer is worth exploring. If you desire a setting spray that delivers a beautiful, fine mist, dries quickly, and locks your makeup in place with a natural, dewy finish, the Power Grip Dewy Setting Spray is a must-try. As a duo, they work synergistically to create a long-lasting, fresh-faced look that can stand up to daily challenges. Give them a try and see if they become your new affordable favorites!
