Matte Sun Stick and Relief Sun Cream by BOJ

Thanks so much to @beautyofjoseon_official and @bazzaal_ for allowing me to try these products! I absolutely adored them, just like I adored Beauty Of Joseon’s Red Ginseng Sun Serum. It is worth noting that all three of their SPFs have no traditional texture (so they are all nice and lightweight, not overly thick or greasy), and none of them have a stereotypical SPF scent to them like the ones I grew up with in America. Plus none of them left a white cast. So all of those things are wins in my book!

The Relief Sun was probably the first product I had seen from the brand when I was first getting into #kbeauty , so I am super thankful to finally get to try it! This one was the most moisturizing of their three SPFs, so this is fantastic for people like me who have dry leaning skin. I can see why a lot of people use SPFs in place of a moisturizer in their morning routine when it’s as nourishing as this SPF.

The matte sun stick was especially intriguing to me. I adore the ease of use and on the go re-application that sun sticks offer, and I was especially curious about the matte aspect. I’m somebody who can sweat a lot in the sun in summer, and my skin can look super greasy as a result. Not it hasn’t been overly hot for me to test how it looks in 90+ degree weather, but it worked amazingly for me when it was in the 60’s & 70’s. To be honest that’s usually the average temperature in the PNW in the spring/summer/fall. I included a post use picture as well for your reference, after three hours my skin still looked matte. And that was with zero makeup on top. Of course I wanted to see how matte this stick was without a setting powder! And I was really impressed with the results! I will definitely be grabbing for this throughout the summer.

... Read moreOkay, let's dive even deeper into why these Beauty of Joseon sunscreens have become my absolute staples! Beyond the initial impressions, I really want to share some practical insights that make them stand out in my routine. First, let's talk about the Matte Sun Stick. The convenience of the stick format is seriously unmatched. I used to dread reapplying sunscreen throughout the day, especially when I was out and about. But with this SPF 50 stick, it's a breeze! I just toss it in my bag, and I can literally reapply it in two to three hours without any fuss. The packaging itself is sleek and sturdy, making it perfect for travel or just throwing into your everyday tote. For anyone wondering about the packaging open, it's a simple twist-up mechanism, very hygienic, and ensures the product stays fresh. I've found it super easy to glide over my skin, even over light makeup (though I tested it bare-faced initially), and it truly lives up to its matte promise. That smooth texture ensures no pilling, which is a huge win for me because nobody wants their skincare to rub off! The fact that my skin still looks matte after hours, even in moderate temperatures, is incredibly impressive. This is a game-changer for those of us who struggle with shine, especially during warmer months. Now, onto the Relief Sun Rice and Probiotic SPF 50. If you have dry skin like me, this is where it truly shines. I've been on the hunt for a sunscreen that doesn't feel heavy or strip my skin of moisture, and this one delivers. It’s incredibly easy to blend and feels absolutely lightweight on the skin, almost like a hydrating serum rather than a traditional thick sun cream. I love that there's no strong scent – a common issue with many sunscreens. For me, it integrates seamlessly into my morning routine. Sometimes, if I'm short on time or my skin is feeling extra parched, I can even use this in place of a dedicated moisturizer because of how nourishing it is. It layers beautifully under makeup too, leaving a slightly dewy but not greasy finish. These products really highlight why Korean sun sticks and K-beauty sunscreens, in general, have gained such a cult following. They prioritize a pleasant user experience alongside high protection. Gone are the days of sticky, heavy, white-cast-leaving sunscreens. K-beauty brands like Beauty of Joseon have perfected formulas that feel like skincare, not just sun protection. The emphasis on ingredients that benefit the skin (like rice and probiotics in the Relief Sun) while providing robust SPF 50 coverage is what makes them superior. Plus, the innovation in formats, like the sun stick, makes consistent sun protection much more achievable for everyone. Protecting your skin from sun damage is crucial, and having products that you genuinely enjoy using makes all the difference. I genuinely feel like my skin has benefited from incorporating these into my daily regimen, not just from sun protection, but also from the added skincare benefits.

BOJ Tinted SPF
Beauty Of Joseon released a Tinted SPF and I tried it out. It has a matte finish, so if you have dry skin this may not be for you. Coverage is light but buildable. If you have tried it what’s your thoughts? #spfmakeup #beautyofjosean #kbeautyskincare #kbeautyroutine #makeup
