SPF Spray by Vacation Review
I love the idea of this, and had been intrigued since its introduction to the Vacation Inc lineup. But I was really disappointed bc I had multiple bottles leak on me. In fact, one of them ruined one of my bags (it’s permanently stained). Even though I had the bottle upright in the bag. The first leak I thought was a fluke. It was leaking in the box when I received it from my online order. With how rough shipping can be, I brushed it off as an issue of rough shipping. So I exchanged it because I was really excited to try it out. I put it upright in my over the shoulder bag (which I always store upright as well). There was no indication the second bottle would leak since it was dry.
Then I went to go use it a day or two after the purchase, it was still dry. I shook the bottle up (per the instructions) before use, sprayed it, and put the bottle back in my bag in an upright position. The scent was very coconuty/sweet, and not overpowering. After that day’s events, I found that the bottle had leaked everywhere in my bag, even with all of the lids tightly in place, and the screw lid tight. After that I was so disappointed, I had no reason to try a third time. Once is a mistake, two or more times feels like something the brand needs to be aware of or a design fluke. Especially because it has the same system a lot of setting sprays on the market have that don't leak. Luckily my Ulta location totally understood my disappointment, and they accepted the second return and I got my money back. I love the product aside from the leaking packaging. It's lightweight, doesn't feel sticky, and cooperates with makeup. Just be aware if you want to travel with it, put it into another spray bottle that doesn't leak, or put the bottle in a ziplock bag!

Even if the brand claims it's leak-proof, a little extra precaution can literally save your bag from a permanent stain. It's a small step that offers huge peace of mind, whether you're just commuting or going on a long trip. Check That Cap (Really Check It!): It sounds obvious, but after you spray, give the cap an extra twist. Sometimes, a tiny bit of product residue around the threading can prevent a complete seal, even if it feels tight. I’ve noticed this especially with lightweight, non-sticky formulas that might not have a thick texture to help create a stronger seal. Consider Decanting for Travel: For products you absolutely can't live without, like a specific SPF spray, consider transferring a smaller amount into a dedicated travel-sized container. While it's an extra step and not ideal for everyone, it can be a lifesaver if you frequently encounter leakage issues with original packaging. Just make sure your travel container is truly leak-proof! Store Upright When Possible: When packing your bag or storing your products at home, try to keep spray bottles upright. I know, this isn't always feasible in a crammed suitcase, but minimizing the time the liquid is against the seal can help prevent leaks. If the worst happens and your product does leak, don't just toss it in frustration! Document the damage with photos – that's crucial if you plan on contacting customer service. Most reputable brands want to know if their packaging is failing, and they might offer a refund or replacement. Having proof always helps your case. This isn't just about getting your money back; it’s about making brands aware of issues that affect us, the consumers, especially when it comes to essential products like SPF that we rely on for protection during daily use and leisure activities. My experience with returns wasn't too bad, but being prepared makes it smoother. Ultimately, my takeaway from this whole ordeal is to be proactive. Don't let a leaky product ruin your day or your belongings. A few simple habits can make a big difference in keeping your bags clean and your products where they belong.
