Rose Hips Shampoo by Herbal Essences 1 Min Review
Product gifted by Influenster and Herbalessences for free in exchange for my honest review.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to film application of this, since after the first use of this I ended up with a super itchy scalp, and I had to immediately wash it off with another shampoo. I did notice since I applied this to the rest of my hair (and only focused the second shampoo at my scalp area), it made my lower section of hair feel softer when I got out of the shower. If you enjoy florals, you probably wouldn't mind the rose fragrance of this shampoo. As I said in this review, it smells nice and fresh like crisp flowers. No powdery rose scent here! It worked well at cutting the grease of my scalp, but that could also be due to the fact that I had to use another shampoo to wash this one out. Because I had a mostly negative reaction to this formula, I had to give it a low rating. For reference, I have thick and long hair as well. I couldn't figure out from the packaging what may have caused the reaction unfortunately. 2 out of 5 stars for me.

When trying the Rose Hips Shampoo by Herbal Essences, I was intrigued by its promise of a fresh floral scent combined with effective cleansing. Many users appreciate shampoos that not only clean the scalp but also leave hair feeling soft and manageable. However, based on my experience, the key takeaway is to consider scalp sensitivity before fully committing to this product. The shampoo’s rose fragrance is indeed pleasant—not powdery but crisp and floral, which would appeal to those who enjoy light, natural scents. This aligns well with Herbal Essences’ branding as a cruelty-free and color-safe brand that uses dermatologist-tested formulas. For many, such qualities are essential when choosing hair care products. What stood out to me was the shampoo’s grease-cutting ability. Although I had to double cleanse due to an immediate itchy reaction on my scalp, the product did effectively remove oil and buildup, which is beneficial if you have fine or oily hair. After rinsing, I noticed that the ends of my hair felt softer and more manageable, which is a plus for anyone struggling with dryness or rough hair texture. Nevertheless, the adverse reaction I experienced highlights the importance of patch testing a new shampoo, especially if you have a sensitive scalp or skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis. Ingredients in rose-scented products sometimes include essential oils or additives that could trigger irritation. Unfortunately, the packaging didn’t clearly specify the culprit in this formula, which can be frustrating for consumers wanting to avoid allergens. If your scalp is resilient and you love floral scents, this shampoo might be worth trying since it balances fragrance with cleansing. For those with sensitive skin or scalp issues, it’s advisable to be cautious and perhaps consult ingredient lists or reviews before use. Ultimately, personal hair care products can be hit or miss, as hair type, scalp condition, and individual sensitivities vary greatly. My experience underscores the need to listen to your scalp’s reactions and adjust your product choices accordingly. Sharing such honest feedback can help others make informed decisions about whether Herbal Essences Rose Hips Shampoo is a good fit for their hair care routine.
