Magic Cream by Charlotte Tilbury One Min Review
Product gifted by Charlotte Tilbury and Influenster for free in exchange for my honest review.
Fun fact: this product was the first one launched by the brand, even though most are familiar with the brand because of their makeup products. I'm someone with dry leaning and eczema prone skin, so I often get flaking dry patches all over my face. I love thicker creams like this one. Unfortunately a scent can make or break a product for me, especially when it's as strongly scented as this cream. It was so strong it made my eyes water during application. I have to apply creams to my nose area because it is a place that gets flaky skin the most. Strongly scented creams are a little harder for me to handle as a result. As for the texture of the cream, it is on the thicker side. But I noticed that it absorbs into your skin fairly quickly, with no greasy feeling left behind. I was really impressed! This definitely helped get rid of the tight sensation that my dry skin can sometimes have when it's dehydrated. But the scent was too big of a turn off for me.

Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream has been a cult favorite for many skincare enthusiasts, and as someone with dry and eczema-prone skin, I found it quite effective in addressing the common issues of flakiness and tightness. One aspect worth highlighting is the cream’s key ingredients like Rosehip oil, oat extract, and ectoin, which contribute to hydration and skin barrier support. The Rosehip oil, known for its nourishing and anti-inflammatory properties, adds a level of moisture that's beneficial for those who struggle with dry skin. The cream's thicker texture made me feel like it was deeply moisturizing, yet it surprisingly absorbed fairly quickly and didn’t leave a greasy residue — a major plus for those who dislike heavy-feeling products. However, the strong floral scent derived from Rosehip oil might be overwhelming if you have sensitive skin or are sensitive to fragrances, as it was for me; my eyes even watered during application, which can be uncomfortable during daily skincare routines. In terms of makeup compatibility, results varied with me. While sometimes it worked well as a base, particularly for dry patches around the nose, other times it clashed with my foundation. This suggests the formula might interact differently depending on the makeup used. For those who love scented skincare and seek a rich, quick-absorbing moisturizer to tackle dryness and dehydration, Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream is worth trying. However, fragrance-sensitive users might want to test it cautiously or consider fragrance-free alternatives. Ultimately, this cream serves as a great hydrator and barrier protector, making it a valuable addition to a dry skin skincare routine, especially during colder months or drier climates.
