Excited about my new medical coding book!
Check out my new coding book, the ICD-10-CM!
I spent yesterday morning organizing it with tabs, and I’m really proud of how it turned out.
Having everything tabbed makes it so much easier to navigate this book!

As someone diving into the world of medical coding, I found that getting organized with the ICD-10-CM book made a huge difference in my learning efficiency. The book covers extensive code ranges, from infectious diseases in chapters H40.0 to B99 to neoplasms and blood disorders coded between C00-D89 and D50-D89, all the way through metabolic and digestive system diseases. By using labeled tabs, each section, including essential tables like the Neoplasm Table and AMA Drugs Table, becomes much easier to reference quickly. One of my favorite strategies is to study with the book open to key chapters related to the specialty I'm focusing on. The tabs let me flip back and forth without losing time, which is crucial when preparing for exams or working on coding projects. Plus, organizing the book this way helps reduce overwhelm by breaking down the dense ICD-10-CM manual into manageable parts. Beyond organization, pairing this approach with consistent study motivation is key. I often share my progress with peers through hashtags like #medicalcoding, #studymotivation, and #selfstudy, which help keep me accountable. Setting small goals for mastering specific code ranges or tables—such as the Infectious Diseases (H40-B99) or Neoplasm Table—turns studying into an achievable routine. If you’re new to medical coding, consider creating your own tab system based on the code ranges or body systems most relevant to your work. It’s a personal touch that not only helps retention but makes the ICD-10-CM more user-friendly. Combining organized materials with a structured study plan has made my medical coding journey much more rewarding and manageable.

I am need to see how I can find the tabs so I label my book when I order my book so I can start studying for my certification exam
