West Monday Temple is an old temple on the banks of the Nan River, the west side of Phitsanulok. It has a long history. It was originally called "Silver Nest Temple." But later, a huge fire in about 1857 caused many villagers to migrate across the river to build houses across the street and call the new village "West Monday House," which is the origin of the current temple. The temple has been the center of the hearts of the villagers in the neighborhood since the past. The temple is located in a quiet location surrounded by nature along the river, suitable for philanthropy, meditation, or rest from the chaos of daily life.
The highlight of the temple is the magnificent King Pathom Cathedral, built of Thai-Lanna mixed art, the exterior of the temple is beautifully decorated with gold leaf, the interior of which enshrines the great Buddha, revered by Buddhists throughout the country, and the great Buddha of the Golden Fathers, the large Pang, and many other sacred things such as eggs, Ganesha, and the temple Buddha.
