Distressed at heart, extinguished at heart..
🪷 Distressed at heart... extinguished at heart
Many people think that "suffering" comes from things like hard work, family problems, or situations.
But verily, suffering is from our own hearts.
What happens around us is not suffering. If our hearts take it calmly,
💡 What is caused by suffering?
1. Attachment
We want things to work, but the world is never stable.
2. Craving and fear
I want it. I want it. I don't want it.
3. Iterative thoughts
Think about the past, worry about the future, make your heart restless.
So suffering comes from our hearts, not from our surroundings.
🧘♂️ extinguish?
1. Knowing when suffering
• When distracted, angry or sad
• Tell yourself, "This is suffering" or "This is thought."
• Knowing as if a flashlight shines a thought, a feeling, will clearly see that it can pass.
2. Let go of attachment
• Accept what is out of control
• Do not try to force things to be satisfied
3. Stay with the present
• Breathe in, know. Breathe out, know.
• Know what we are doing now, what we are thinking
• Being present helps to gradually fade.
4. Blessed and kind
• Send love, goodwill to yourself and others.
• A gentle heart toward others will also be calm toward themselves.
