I do cuss a little

But I’m not crashing out behind no man!!

... Read moreI used to be someone who talked freely, including cussing occasionally, as part of my everyday conversations. It was just how I communicated with my friends and the people around me. However, as I grew and began to explore my faith more deeply, I realized that my words carried much more power and meaning than I had given them credit for. One day, reflecting on how I spoke, I decided to make a deliberate change. It wasn’t easy at first—I sometimes slipped back into my old ways when under stress or hanging out in familiar groups. But slowly, I started noticing the positive effects of reducing my use of curse words. It improved the way others related to me, and more importantly, it made me feel more aligned with my values. People might not realize, but the language we choose to use can really influence our mindset and the kind of energy we put out into the world. Another big shift was avoiding getting into unhealthy relationships or situations where I would 'crash out behind no man'—meaning I stopped putting myself in compromising positions for anyone’s sake. This boundary was vital to respecting myself and taking control of my life. I’ve found that when you commit to positive language and healthy choices, you also start to attract better experiences and people. For anyone thinking about making changes like this, it helps to have support—whether from community, faith groups, or trusted friends—and to be patient with yourself. Transformation is a process, and every small victory matters. Embracing new ways of speaking and living can unlock a richness in life and spirit that is deeply rewarding.
