Nesting Series: Washing and Folding ✨
Is washing clothes or blankets, burp cloths , wash cloths, etc. uncommon ? Please comment below 😂.
There was a whole debate about this and I’m just trying to make sure I’m not going crazy 😂😂😂
When I reached around 34 weeks pregnant, I found myself deeply immersed in the nesting instinct, especially focused on washing and folding all the baby items like blankets, burp cloths, and washcloths. It’s surprisingly common to feel the urge to get everything perfectly organized and clean before the baby arrives. From my experience, pre-washing baby clothes is more than just about cleanliness—it’s a way to prepare emotionally for welcoming the little one. I noticed that using gentle, fragrance-free detergents helped avoid irritation on the baby’s sensitive skin. Also, folding the clothes neatly and organizing them by type and size made it easier to grab what’s needed once the baby is here. It created a calm, organized space that I found comforting amidst the excitement and anxiety of late pregnancy. Though some friends joked about it or questioned if it was necessary, many moms-to-be I’ve talked to have the same habit—it’s part of that nesting phase where preparing your home feels instinctive. If you’re wondering whether to wash all those baby items before the baby arrives, I’d say go for it! It helps you feel more ready and adds a personal touch to welcoming your baby. Plus, it provides a great distraction and sense of accomplishment in the busy third trimester.
