Chapter 1 - Space Pass

Light sign over check-in hall glowing off-white:

"KETU Window Field Trip-Trial Program by Top Private High Schools."

The flight numbers flashed briefly and then stagnated. Mevz adjusted the utility bag strap in place. The hand touched the self-sewing zipper twice around - that seam reminded him that. This item was the one that had to stay with him as long as possible, not the one that was easily repurchased.

The world is not very fair to ordinary people - he thought.

But today we got on the ship, too.

Mevz goes to the bathroom - warm water in microgravity vaporizes into strings, he wipes his hair to dry quickly, returns to the bottom bed, pulls the curtain of the half-open circular window - the earth, still shining there, he opens the sketchbook, draws a thin line between three words: wind / quiet / light, and stops the nib.

The fire in the room dropped to night mode. The sound of the roommate's breathing slowly got into the same rhythm. Mevz leaned - letting the new gravity blanket him. Glowing Yui in his head, "Remember every second." He closed his eyes with a picture of the earth still floating outside the window.
