Replying to @Xoxo lmk if this was completely unhelpful lol and I’ll make a better one💀
Hey everyone! I've been getting so many questions about how I add beads to my hair elastics – especially after my last post! It seems like everyone wants to know the secret to those fun, festive summer styles. When I first started experimenting with hair beads, I admit, it felt a little daunting. How do you get those tiny beads onto an elastic band without breaking anything or losing your mind? Well, after some trial and error, I've found a few methods that work wonders, and I'm excited to share my go-to technique with you! First, let's talk about why hair beads are so amazing. They're perfect for adding a pop of color, a touch of bohemian flair, or just a little extra sparkle to any hairstyle. Whether you're heading to a festival, a beach day, or just want to elevate your everyday look, beaded hairstyles are a game-changer. Plus, they're super versatile and can be used on all hair types and lengths. My personal favorite way to wear them is in braids or pigtails for that ultimate summer vibe. So, back to the burning question: How do you actually put the beads on the elastic? Here's my favorite, easiest hack: What You'll Need: Your favorite hair elastics: Clear or colored, thin or thick – whatever you prefer! Hair beads: Make sure they have a hole large enough for your elastic to pass through. I love iridescent ones or wooden beads for a natural look. A bobby pin or a hair beading tool (optional but helpful): This is the secret weapon for making it super easy. My Step-by-Step Method: Choose Your Supplies: Pick out your elastic and the beads you want to use. Lay them out so they're easy to access. Prepare Your Tool: If you're using a bobby pin, gently open it up slightly so there's a small gap. If you have a hair beading tool (it often looks like a thin wire loop with a handle), that's even better. Thread the Elastic: Take one end of your hair elastic and thread it through the opening of your bobby pin (the closed, rounded end) or directly through the loop of your beading tool. You only need to thread about an inch or two of the elastic through. Add the Bead: Now, slide your chosen bead(s) onto the bobby pin or beading tool. The goal is for the bead to go over the elastic that's threaded through your tool. This is where the magic happens! The bobby pin or tool acts as a guide, making it much easier for the elastic to pass through the bead's small hole. Slide the Bead Onto the Elastic: Carefully push the bead from the bobby pin/tool directly onto the elastic. You might need to gently pull the elastic through the bead as you push the bead off the bobby pin. Once the bead is fully on the elastic, you can remove the bobby pin/tool. Repeat! Continue adding as many beads as you like using the same method. I usually add 2-3 beads per elastic, but you can go wild and add more for a fuller look! Pro Tips for Success: Don't Overstuff: Make sure there's still enough elastic visible to comfortably tie your hair. Secure Well: When you tie your hair, make sure the beads are positioned where you want them. For braids, I often slide them up to the base of the braid for a secure hold. Mix and Match: Don't be afraid to use different colored or sized beads on the same elastic for a unique look. Gentle Removal: To remove, just take out your elastic as usual. The beads should slide off easily. If you've tied them in very tightly, be gentle to avoid tangles. This method has been a total lifesaver for me, and I hope it helps you achieve those gorgeous, beaded hairstyles too! It's so much easier than trying to force the elastic through with your fingers alone. Give it a try, and let me know how it goes in the comments. Happy styling, my loves!
