✨ Plot Twist: I’m Basically a Homesteader
Long time no see, girlies (and gents)! 👋✨
I honestly don’t even know how long it’s been since I’ve posted here 😂 but hey! How are y’all?
As for me? I’m doing pretty good.
Life has taken a turn, and I’ve officially become a stay-at-home dog mom who runs a small jam and jelly canning business and spends her spare time in the garden. 🐶🍓🫙🌱
Basically, I’m one sourdough starter away from becoming a full-blown homesteader. 😂
This morning I decided to slow down, grab a good book, and hang out with the dog. Honestly, it was exactly what I needed.

Have any of y’all read either of these?
If so, let me know what you thought in the comments! No spoilers… unless they’re the juicy kind. 😉💕 (clearly the dog isn’t cooperating with the camera)

Transitioning into a homesteading lifestyle has truly been a transformative experience for me. Running a small jam and jelly canning business from home allows me to combine my love of gardening and cooking, which makes the days fulfilling and creative. I’ve learned so much about preserving seasonal fruits and mastering small-batch recipes that truly capture the fresh garden flavors. It’s both relaxing and rewarding. Spending quality time with my German Shepherd while unwinding with a good book has become my favorite way to slow down and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Having a consistent reading habit helps me stay mentally refreshed and inspired, and it’s a great way to take breaks from the busyness of managing a home-based business and garden. One key tip I’d share for anyone interested in dipping their toes into homesteading is to start small—whether it’s with a few pots of herbs or a single batch of homemade jam. I’m still learning the ropes but find that embracing this lifestyle teaches patience, resourcefulness, and creativity in ways I never expected. Plus, there’s something incredibly satisfying about growing and preserving your own food. As for the dog mom part, it’s been a joyful challenge balancing business, gardening, and pet care. My dog keeps me active and motivated, reminding me to take breaks and enjoy the outdoors. I also love connecting with communities around homestead life, gardening, and cozy book reading—it’s nice to know others are on similar journeys. If you’re curious about books for a cozy lifestyle or want recommendations for beginner-friendly canning projects, I’m happy to share! Ultimately, this blending of homestead living, pet love, and personal passions has added a meaningful rhythm to my days.
