t’s not the bleach or the heat…
Yes bleach & heat weaken your hair strand so you can get breakage from it. But you can 1000000% have healthy, long, thick hair and still use bleach and heat. So they are not the real reason your hair is dry, broken, thin, fragile, and frizzy.
1. Sleeping with wet hair. DON’T DO IT!!! Your hair is fragile when it’s went and it’s breaking as you sleep. This is also insanely unhealthy for your scalp environment so you will end up with hair that just doesn’t seem to grow and products some itchiness and flakiness
2. Relying on only protein & bonding treatments for strong hair. The olaplex, the K18, the Redken… if you’ve used it all and felt like your hair was still dry, brittle, breaking… it’s because protein and bonding products on their own are NOT enough. Your hair needs oils, nutrients, and active ingredients to maintain a healthy scalp and strand of hair. Plus bonus: use non silicone based strengthening products and oils 🙊
3. “Training” your hair to go longer between washes. Healthy hair will always come down to a healthy scalp. Letting oils, sweat, dirt, dry shampoo just sit on your scalp and build up is NOT healthy. It’s much healthier to just wash your hair!
4. Picking up a new haircare product everytime you visit the store. It seems harmless but it’s a bad habit that will lead you confused why nothing ever seems to work on your hair. I always tell my haircare clients to stick with their routine for 1-2 full years consistently! Good things take time.
Girl your hair is supposed to be long, thick, healthy and stunningggg. The reason you’re struggling is just simply the wrong routine & wrong strategy for YOUR hair type

In my experience, caring for your hair is not about avoiding bleach or heat completely but understanding how to support your hair’s natural health despite using them. Many people don’t realize that sleeping with wet hair significantly increases breakage. When hair is wet, its structure is weaker, making it far more vulnerable to mechanical stress during sleep. Not only does this cause damage, but it also creates a less-than-ideal scalp environment, often resulting in itchiness or flakes, which hinder hair growth. Another overlooked issue is relying solely on protein or bonding treatments like Olaplex or K18. These products are excellent for repairing damaged bonds, but they don’t provide the complete care your hair needs. I found that incorporating nourishing oils and nutrient-rich products—especially those free from heavy silicones—helps maintain moisture balance and strengthens the hair shaft from root to tip. Also, I've learned that trying to 'train' hair to go longer between washes by piling up dry shampoo and letting buildup accumulate is counterproductive. A clean scalp is the foundation for healthy hair growth. Regular washing removes excess oils, sweat, and environmental buildup, supporting a flourishing scalp biome. Lastly, sticking to one consistent routine over time is key. I used to switch hair products every time I shopped, hoping for quick fixes, but this only left my hair confused and unbalanced. After committing to a tailored regimen for over a year, I noticed real improvements in texture, thickness, and shine. Remember, every hair type has unique needs. Understanding and respecting your hair’s individual characteristics, whilst avoiding common pitfalls, can turn your hair woes into a healthy, stunning mane.
