I got these 2 delicious @Chocolates.of.Glenshiel dark chocolates in the highlands when we were in Scotland: dark chocolate with haggis spice and dark chocolate Skye sea salt (from the Scottish Isle of Skye). 🍫

I love how clean they keep the ingredients. You can tell they take pride in their craft. One of my favorite things to do whilst traveling is supporting local businesses.

Here is my live review of both- I wish I got more to try! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

... Read moreDuring my trip to Scotland, I had the pleasure of trying two distinctive dark chocolates from Chocolates of Glenshiel—one infused with traditional haggis spice and the other with sea salt from the Isle of Skye. These chocolates are not only a treat for the palate but also a wonderful example of how regional flavors can be blended into something both innovative and delicious. What really stood out was the company’s commitment to using clean, straightforward ingredients. In a market flooded with overly processed sweets, finding chocolates where every component is intentional felt refreshing. The haggis spice chocolate had subtle notes that hinted at the savory traditional Scottish dish, though notably it wasn’t actual haggis mixed in, just the complementary spices. This creative use of spice gave the dark chocolate a warm, complex flavor profile that was surprisingly smooth and well balanced. The Skye sea salt chocolate was another highlight, embodying the perfect harmony of salty and sweet that fans of gourmet chocolate love. The salt’s origin from the Isle of Skye added an authentic touch, enhancing the natural richness of the dark chocolate base. The bar had a satisfying snap, a sign of quality craftsmanship I appreciate in handmade chocolates. Supporting local artisan producers like Chocolates of Glenshiel adds an extra layer of meaning to tasting these chocolates. It connects travelers with the culture and heritage of the region in a direct, delicious way. If you find yourself in Scotland, seeking out these local specialties not only delights your taste buds but also helps sustain small businesses proud of preserving their culinary traditions. Overall, my experience sampling these chocolates was memorable. It inspired me to look more closely at chocolate as an expressive medium for local flavors and artisanal quality. I wish I’d bought more to bring home or share because each bite told a story of Scottish craftsmanship and landscape. For anyone interested in unique sweets or culinary souvenirs, I highly recommend trying these chocolates with haggis spice and Skye sea salt.
