「歯で視力回復」「トゥースインアイ」って、名前のインパクトが強すぎて私も最初はびっくりして検索しました。結論から言うと、私が受けたのはそれではなくIOL（有水晶体眼内レンズ）手術です。検索している人の中には、この2つが同じ“視力回復手術”として混ざってしまっているケースが多いと思ったので、私なりに違いを整理します。 まず「トゥースインアイ（歯で視力回復）」は、一般に重度の角膜疾患などで通常の角膜移植が難しい場合に検討される、かなり特殊な治療として紹介されることが多い印象でした。歯（やその周辺組織）を使って眼の中にレンズを固定する…という説明を見かけますが、少なくとも“近視を治してメガネを捨てたい”という目的で気軽に選ぶタイプの話ではなさそう、と感じました。対象となる病状や適応がかなり限られている点がポイントです。 一方で私が受けたIOL手術は、近視などの屈折異常を改善して「コンタクトやメガネ依存から解放されたい」人が検討することが多い手術です。イメージとしては、目の中にレンズを入れて視力を補正する方法。白内障手術と似た文脈で語られることもありますが、目的（濁りを取るのか、屈折を直すのか）やレンズの扱いが異なるケースがあるので、気になる人はクリニックでしっかり確認するのが安心です。 私自身、術後に生活が一番変わったのは「朝からクリアに見える」こと。起きてすぐスマホが見える、読書が“老眼鏡を探す作業”から解放される、コンタクトの在庫やケア用品の管理が不要になる…こういう細かいストレスが積み重なって、QOLが底上げされました。画像にもある通り、黒縁メガネやコンタクトにバツを付けたくなる気持ち、すごく分かります。 注意点としては、私はハローグレア（光の周りが輪っかっぽく見える）を少し感じました。生活に支障はないレベルでしたが、夜間の見え方は術前に説明を受けておくと安心です。また、手術は短時間でも、検査・経過観察が大事。できれば数日に分けて余裕を持つスケジュールが理想、という話も納得でした。 「歯で視力回復（トゥースインアイ）」を調べてここにたどり着いた方は、まず自分の目的が“角膜などの重い疾患の治療”なのか、“屈折矯正でメガネ・コンタクトを減らしたい”のかを切り分けるのがおすすめです。同じ“視力回復”でも、治療の前提がまったく違うことが多いので、適応検査と医師の説明を軸に判断すると後悔が減ると思います。
