The best kimbap by the pretty lady boss
I finally made a trip down to @myungga2.sg ‘s main outlet over the weekend, ever since trying their Tuna Mayo Kimbap at @junction8sg ’s MiniPress outlet, and it has been my go-to for kimbap near my house!
We ordered a little feast and here are our highlights:
💛 Kimchi Jeon ($21) – Super crispy edges and so addictive, easily one of our top picks of the meal.
🍗 Soy Garlic Chicken (8pcs, $27) – Crispy outside, juicy inside with satisfying bite.
🍜 Dak Kalguksu ($17) – Comfort bowl with tender chicken, soft chewy noodles and warm, tummy-hugging broth.
🦐 Haemul Sundubu ($18) – Umami-rich and soothing broth
Of course we had to get the Tuna Mayo Kimbap ($13) to share! I finally got to meet the super friendly and pretty lady boss, Vicky, and watched her prepare the kimbap fresh in-store. She even offered yogurt drinks to all customers, such a sweet gesture that made the meal feel extra heartwarming.
If you love Korean comfort food, definitely add this spot to your list. They also have another outlet in Tanjong Pagar which is pet-friendly!
📍Bukit Timah Plaza, B1-55
If you're exploring Korean food options in Singapore, Myungga II at Bukit Timah Plaza offers more than just great kimbap — their menu has a variety of dishes that really elevate a typical meal. Beyond the Tuna Mayo Kimbap, which has become a staple for me, I was really impressed by the Kimchi Jeon. The crispy edges packed with umami flavor made it addictive, and it paired wonderfully with the warm, savory Dak Kalguksu noodle soup, perfect for chilly days or when you want comfort food that feels home-cooked. I also appreciated the Soy Garlic Chicken — it had the perfect balance of a crispy exterior and juicy meat inside, which reminded me of traditional Korean fried chicken but with a unique twist. The Haemul Sundubu, a seafood soft tofu stew, was another highlight: the broth was rich and soothing, a real treat that complements the meal nicely. One personal favorite detail was seeing Vicky, the lady boss, preparing the kimbap freshly in the store and offering complimentary yogurt drinks to customers—a lovely touch that makes dining here feel more welcoming and authentic. The atmosphere of the outlets, including their pet-friendly Tanjong Pagar location, adds to the appeal, making it a cozy spot whether you’re dining alone or with friends. For those interested in Korean flavors with halal options, while the article doesn’t specify halal certification, many fans seek out places that provide authentic tastes with that consideration. I recommend checking directly with the outlets for halal-friendly dishes if that’s your priority. Finally, the prices offer good value for the quality and quantity, which is great for casual dining or a hearty meal. If you want to try something new or revisit classic Korean dishes, this place provides a warm and satisfying experience that’s definitely worth adding to your food outing list in Singapore.
