Having visited Nai Nai Flavor 椿花奶奶 myself shortly after they expanded their menu, I can truly say their new Flavors of Jiangnan selection brings an authentic and comforting taste of Chinese home cooking to Singapore. The Grandma’s Secret Dishes chicken and pork soup stood out for its rich, soothing broth that felt like a warm hug, perfect for sharing with friends or family. One dish I especially enjoyed was the Garlic Vermicelli Prawns — the vermicelli absorbed the garlic sauce perfectly, complementing the juiciness of the prawns. It’s a simple dish elevated by quality ingredients and skillful preparation. The Hangzhou Osmanthus Lotus Root dessert deserves special mention as well; with its sweet floral osmanthus aroma and chewy texture, it offers a refreshing end to the hearty meal and is great for those who appreciate traditional Chinese sweets. The queue at i12 Katong confirms it’s a beloved spot, and the variety of dishes spanning braised pork belly with preserved mustard greens to Wuxi pork ribs ensures there is something to satisfy different palates. On multiple visits, I found the combination of flavors perfectly balanced — sweet and savory — making every bite inviting. For those who want to experience authentic Jiangnan and Hangzhou flavors in a cozy spot, Nai Nai Flavor 椿花奶奶 is highly recommended. Be prepared for queues during peak hours, but it’s definitely worth the wait. Plus, finishing your meal with their honey toast topped with vanilla ice cream is pure indulgence, truly a perfect way to end your dining experience.
