Won’t He Do It? 🕊️
🕊️For years I kept asking God the same question:
“What do You want me to do? What is my purpose?”
🕊️When I was married, I constantly felt like I wasn’t doing enough for my family… while somehow giving everything I had at the same time. I questioned my worth more than I’d like to admit. I wondered why people always came to me with their struggles, why strangers and friends alike seemed to trust me so easily, and why I carried such a deep desire to comfort people when I often felt like I couldn’t even carry myself.
🕊️I kept asking God why. I wanted a gift that looked bigger. Louder. More obvious. Instead, over time, God began showing me that maybe the gift He placed inside me was never meant to draw attention to me, it was meant to draw people to Him.
✨𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘴. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦; 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘰.✨
🕊️I believe God created me with a gentle spirit, compassion, and a presence that helps steady people when life feels chaotic. I’ve realized that people aren’t drawn to me because of anything special about me. They’re drawn to the peace that God has been growing inside of me. That realization changed everything.
🕊️I also learned something just as important,
✨Lanterns only keep burning when they’re being fed.✨
🕊️For so long I poured into everyone else without guarding the heart God gave me. I gave pieces of myself away until I felt empty. God has been teaching me that compassion without boundaries leads to burnout, and that protecting the gifts He’s given me is just as important as using them.
So I prayed one night, not the cute pleasing prayers. The can’t breath, crying, giving it all up feeling new after type of prayer, I prayed:
🕊️“God, You shaped me with a spirit that steadies storms and a gentleness that reaches deeper than words. Open the doors You want me to walk through. Teach me to use every gift You’ve placed inside of me for Your glory, not my own. Shape the parts of me that still need refining. Strengthen where I’m weak, humble where I get ahead of myself, soften where I’ve become hard, and keep my heart anchored in You, not in people. Teach me to love without losing myself, to serve without burning out, and to trust You while You unfold the plan.”🕊️ Looking back now, I can see how faithfully He answered that prayer.
🕊️Nine months before writing those words, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and was baptized. Not long after, life completely unraveled. The enemy attacked harder than I had ever experienced. I walked through divorce, betrayal, heartbreak, fear, loneliness, and seasons where I questioned everything. I fell short more times than I can count. My faith was tested. There were days I didn’t understand what God was doing. 🕊️ But by His grace, He gave me the discernment to keep holding on. I didn’t do it perfectly. I stumbled. I cried. I wrestled with Him.
✨But I kept running back to Him.✨
🕊️Even on the hardest days, I thanked Him because I believed He was still working, even when I couldn’t see it.
🕊️Today, in June 2026, my life doesn’t have every answer, but it has something far greater. I’m four months pregnant with a healthy baby girl. I’m moving back to my hometown to be surrounded by family and people I love.
🕊️God has also blessed me with a man who works hard every single day toward the future we’re building together. Together we’re growing stronger, learning together, and choosing to keep God at the center of our relationship. That alone is a blessing I don’t take for granted.
✨Most importantly, my relationship with God is stronger than it’s ever been.✨
🕊️I don’t lean on my own understanding anymore. When life gets hard, He’s the first place I run not the last.
🕊️The life I thought I lost became the very road God used to bring me closer to Him.
🕊️I’m still learning.
I’m still growing.
I’m still being refined.
But I’m no longer asking God if He has a purpose for me.
I know He does.
I don’t know every step He has planned, but I know the One who does.
🕊️If you’re in a season where life feels unbearable, where your prayers seem unanswered, or where you wonder if God has forgotten you, let this be your reminder:
✨Hold on. Keep praying. Keep trusting.✨
🕊️God doesn’t waste pain. He doesn’t abandon His children. Sometimes He’s doing His greatest work in the seasons that feel the darkest.
✨One day you’ll look back and realize He wasn’t absent.
He was preparing you.✨
🕊️If my story points you anywhere, I pray it points you to Jesus, because He is the only reason I’m still standing.
✨Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.— Proverbs 3:5–6✨
