Your praise is contagious – So is your complaint. What are you carrying today?

... Read moreI’ve noticed that the emotions we carry, whether positive like praise or negative like complaints, can significantly influence our overall mood and daily interactions. When I start my day with appreciation—whether it's complimenting a colleague or acknowledging something good in my life—I tend to feel more energized and connected. On the other hand, holding onto complaints or frustrations can weigh me down and even affect my relationships throughout the day.
It's interesting how contagious these emotions can be. For example, when you offer genuine praise to someone, it often encourages them to pass on kindness, creating a positive ripple effect. Conversely, dwelling on complaints might prompt others to focus on negativity, which can drain collective energy.
What I find helpful is to regularly check in with myself and ask: "What am I carrying today?" Recognizing whether I’m holding praise or complaint helps me decide how to engage with others and navigate challenges more mindfully. Sometimes, journaling about these feelings clarifies what’s impacting me most.
Ultimately, being aware of this emotional load allows me to consciously choose a more balanced and mindful response to life’s ups and downs. I encourage anyone reading this to reflect on their own emotional baggage and consider how offering praise or releasing complaints might change their day for the better.
